Introduction: Several cases of radio-induced neurotrophic keratitis had been observed after proton therapy delivering a mean corneal dose of ≥50 GyRBE. We conducted a prospective exploratory study to assess corneal sensitivity in subsequent patients undergoing proton therapy for cephalic extraocular tumors.
Material And Methods: Forty-three patients (85 eyes) treated with high-energy proton therapy were included in this prospective, single-center, observational cohort study.

Rationale & Objective: The benefits of kidney transplantation compared with treatment with dialysis, including in older adults, are primarily limited by the number of donated kidneys. We studied the potential to expand the use of older living kidney donors.
Study Design: Secondary analysis of the Berlin Initiative Study, a population-based cohort.

Purpose: Social eating (SE) is a corner stone of daily living activities, quality of life (QoL), and aging well. In addition to feeding functional disorders, patients with head and neck cancer (HNC) face individual and social psychological distress. In this aging population, we intended to better assess the influence of age on these challenges, and the role of self-stigmatization limiting SE in patients with and beyond HNC.

Cognitive impairment is one of the invisible symptoms of Multiple sclerosis (MS), which could be associated with depression, unemployment, reduced social interaction, inability to drive, and compromised quality of life. Moreover, the presence of cognitive impairment can be considered as a long-term prognostic factor and in the follow-up of disability. So, cognitive assessment is a crucial element in clinical follow-up of patients with MS (pwMS).

Recent research suggests that fetal exposure to antidepressants (ADs) is significantly associated with fetal death, including stillbirth. However, there has been limited investigation into the timing of AD exposure during pregnancy, the specific effect of each drug, and the possibility of indication bias. To address these gaps in knowledge, we conducted a systematic review of literature and disproportionality analyses using the WHO Safety Database (VigiBase).

Immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS) has been reported in immunocompromised patients with disseminated . Management relies on high-dose corticosteroids. We describe two cases of late-onset corticosteroid-refractory IRIS related to disseminated infection in a HIV-positive patient and a renal transplant patient who had a favorable outcome with a monoclonal TNF-α blocker.

Background: A major breakthrough in cystic fibrosis (CF) therapy was achievedAQ1 with CFTR modulators. The lumacaftor/ivacaftor combination is indicated for the treatment of CF in pediatric patients above 6 years old. Pharmacokinetic (PK) studies of lumacaftor/ivacaftor in these vulnerable pediatric populations are AQ2crucial to optimize treatment protocols.

Background And Aim: Germline mutations of telomere-related genes (TRG) induce multiorgan dysfunction, and liver-specific manifestations have not been clearly outlined. We aimed to describe TRG mutations-associated liver diseases.
Approach And Results: Retrospective multicenter analysis of liver disease (transaminases > 30 IU/L and/or abnormal liver imaging) in patients with TRG mutations.

Introduction: High energy proton therapy (HEP) is a form of radiation therapy using protons for extraocular tumors. Its ballistic properties are theoretically advantageous, but the real impact on the surrounding ocular tissues during cerebral and ENT irradiation is poorly documented. We describe three consecutive patients with corneal damage following such irradiation.

Background: It is unclear whether hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) patients can tolerate antithrombotic therapies (AT) including antiplatelet (AP) and/or anticoagulant (AC) agents.
Objectives: Primary endpoint was tolerance to AT in HHT. Secondary endpoints were to identify factors associated with major bleeding events (MBE) and premature discontinuation of AT.

Rationale: Limited information is available on the clinical status of people with Cystic Fibrosis (pwCF) carrying 2 nonsense mutations (PTC/PTC). The main objective of this study was to compare disease severity between pwCF PTC/PTC, compound heterozygous for F508del and PTC (F508del/PTC) and homozygous for F508del (F508del+/+).
Methods: Based on the European CF Society Patient Registry clinical data of pwCF living in high and middle income European and neighboring countries, PTC/PTC (n = 657) were compared with F508del+/+ (n = 21,317) and F508del/PTC(n = 4254).

The death of a loved one is a universal experience, and marker of the human condition. Grief, the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral responses to bereavement, is both a ubiquitous and a unique psychological process. Thus, health providers often find themselves in a dilemma, caught between the need to alleviate an individual's distress and impairment, and the danger of overly "pathologizing" their grief reaction.

Background: Vaccination in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) treated with immunosuppressive drugs is highly recommended. Regarding COVID-19 vaccination, no specific concern has been raised.
Objectives: We aimed to evaluate if COVID-19 vaccination or infection increased the risk of disease activity, either radiological or clinical, with conversion to MS in a cohort of people with a radiologically isolated syndrome (RIS).

Due to their negative effects on hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction, dihydropyridine calcium channel inhibitors (DCCIs) can lead to hypoxia in patients with a pulmonary shunt. To date, only preclinical studies and case reports have focused on this potential adverse drug reaction. We aimed to assess the reporting association between DCCIs and hypoxia using the World Health Organization pharmacovigilance database (VigiBase).

Introduction: This study examined to what extent supervised aerobic and resistance exercise combined with continued unsupervised exercise training improves cardiorespiratory fitness and corresponding perioperative risk in peripheral artery disease (PAD) patients with intermittent claudication.
Methods: A total of 106 patients (77% male) were enrolled into the study, alongside 155 healthy non-PAD control participants. Patients completed supervised exercise therapy (aerobic and resistance exercises of the upper and lower limbs) twice a week for 10 weeks.
