Purpose: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are now one of the standards of care for patients with lung cancer and have greatly improved both progression-free and overall survival, although of the patients respond to the treatment, and some face acute adverse events. Although a few predictive biomarkers have integrated the clinical workflow, they require additional modalities on top of whole-slide images and lack efficiency or robustness. In this work, we propose a biomarker of immunotherapy outcome derived solely from the analysis of histology slides.

Background: Carfilzomib, a new proteasome inhibitor indicated for patients with relapsed/refractory myeloma, has been associated with cases of thrombotic microangiopathy (CFZ-TMA). The role of variants in the complement alternative pathway and therapeutic potential of complement blockade with eculizumab remain to be determined.
Methods: We report 37 cases of CFZ-TMA recorded in the French reference center for TMA with their clinical characteristics, genetic analysis and outcome according to treatments.

Background: Major depressive disorder is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide. Although most international guidelines recommend psychological and psychosocial interventions as first-line treatment for mild to moderate depression, access remains limited in France due to the limited availability of trained clinicians, high costs for patients in the context of nonreimbursement, and the fear of stigmatization. Therefore, online blended psychological treatment such as Deprexis could improve access to care for people with depression.

Engineered T cell-based adoptive immunotherapies met promising success for the treatment of hematological malignancies. Nevertheless, major hurdles remain to be overcome regarding the management of relapses and the translation to solid tumor settings. Properties of T cell-based final product should be appropriately controlled to fine-tune the analysis of clinical trial results, to draw relevant conclusions, and finally to improve the efficacy of these immunotherapies.

Gastrointestinal cancers are one of the most frequent cancers and a leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. We provide an overview of the most important practice-changing trials that were either published or presented at the international scientific meetings in 2021-2023. Highlights included reports on three phase III trials (CONCORDE/PRODIGE 26, ARTDECO, and a study by Xu et al.

Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL), a rare audiological condition that accounts for 1% of all cases of sensorineural hearing loss, can cause permanent hearing damage. Soon after the launch of global COVID-19 vaccination campaigns, the World Health Organization released a signal detection about SSNHL cases following administration of various COVID-19 vaccines. Post-marketing studies have been conducted in different countries using either pharmacovigilance or medico-administrative databases to investigate SSNHL as a potential adverse effect of COVID-19 vaccines.

Online poker gambling (OPG) involves various executive control processes and emotion regulation. In this context, we hypothesized that online poker players, accustomed to handling virtual cards, would show high performance on computerized decision-making tasks such as the Iowa Gambling Task (IGT). Using press advertisements, we recruited a non-gambler group (NG; n = 20) and an OPG group (n = 22).

Introduction: The purpose of this update is to add newly approved nomenclatures and treatments as well as treatments yet to be approved in major depressive disorder, thus expanding the discussions on the integration of resistance factors into the clinical approach.
Methods: Unlike the first consensus guidelines based on the RAND/UCLA Appropriateness Method, the French Association for Biological Psychiatry and Neuropsychopharmacology (AFPBN) developed an update of these guidelines for the management of partially responsive depression (PRD) and treatment-resistant depression (TRD). The expert guidelines combine scientific evidence and expert clinicians' opinions to produce recommendations for PRD and TRD.

Among 1107 cryptococcosis cases from the French surveillance network (2005-2020), the proportion of HIV-seronegative individuals has recently surpassed that of HIV-seropositive individuals. We observed marked differences in patient characteristics, disease presentations, cryptococcal antigen results, infecting species, and mortality according to HIV serostatus.

The vertebral arteries represent in the adult the main blood supply of the posterior cranial fossa, even if they appear relatively late during the embryological life. We reviewed all the most important steps of the vertebral artery's embryological development and the most common variants that can occur in the adult. The aim of this review is to summarize the main events of the development of this artery and to give an embryological explication for the most common variants of this artery.

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is used to modulate brain function, and can modulate motor and postural control. While the acute effect of tDCS is well documented on patients, little is still known whether tDCS can alter the motor control of healthy trained participants. This study aimed to assess the acute effect of tDCS on postural control of parkour practitioners, known for their good balance abilities and their neuromuscular specificities that make them good candidates for tDCS intervention.

The use of peripheral blood (PB) or bone marrow (BM) stem cells graft in haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation with post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy) for graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis remains controversial. Moreover, the value of adding anti-thymoglobulin (ATG) to PTCy is unknown. A total of 1344 adult patients received an unmanipulated haploidentical transplant at 37 centers from 2012 to 2019 for hematologic malignancy.

Objectives: French healthcare students are required to carry out primary prevention interventions as part of the Healthcare Service by Healthcare Students (HSHS). The purpose of this study was to explore students' perceptions of preparedness to address the public's concerns about antibiotic use and how their perceptions changed after implementing their intervention.
Methods: A questionnaire was sent twice during the 2020-2021 academic year to 920 multidisciplinary healthcare students (nursing, medicine, physiotherapy, pharmacy and midwifery students) enrolled in the HSHS in Franche-Comté (HSHS-FC).

Scope: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a ubiquitous opportunistic pathogen considered one of the paradigms of antimicrobial resistance, is among the main causes of hospital-acquired and chronic infections associated with significant morbidity and mortality. This growing threat results from the extraordinary capacity of P. aeruginosa to develop antimicrobial resistance through chromosomal mutations, the increasing prevalence of transferable resistance determinants (such as the carbapenemases and the extended-spectrum β-lactamases), and the global expansion of epidemic lineages.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on emergency department (ED) care in Canada and around the world. To prevent transmission of COVID-19, personal protective equipment (PPE) was required for all ED care providers in contact with suspected cases. With mass vaccination and improvements in several infection prevention components, our hypothesis is that the risks of transmission of COVID-19 will be significantly reduced and that current PPE use will have economic and ecological consequences that exceed its anticipated benefits.
