Background And Objectives: Aneurysmal surgery is technically complex, and surgeon experience is an important factor in therapeutic success, but training young vascular neurosurgeons has become a complex paradigm. Despite new technologies and simulation models, cadaveric studies still offer an incomparable training tool with perfect anatomic accuracy, especially in neurosurgery. The use of human placenta for learning and improving microsurgical skills has been previously described.

Objective: Previous studies have provided evidence that the discontinuation of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), and chloroquine (CQ), in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is associated with an increased risk of disease flares, with limited information on the level of disease activity at the time of HCQ/CQ discontinuation. Here we aimed to describe the risk of SLE flare after withdrawal of HCQ or CQ in patients with SLE in remission.
Methods: Case-control study (1:2) comparing the evolution of patients with SLE after HCQ/CQ withdrawal for antimalarial retinopathy (cases) with patients with SLE matched for sex, antimalarial treatment duration and age at SLE diagnosis, whose antimalarial treatment was continued throughout the entire follow-up period (controls).

The frequency of corticospinal tract (CST) T2/FLAIR hyperintensity in disorders with neuroglial antibodies is unclear. Herein, we retrospectively reviewed brain MRIs of 101 LGI1-antibody encephalitis patients, and observed CST hyperintensity in 30/101 (30%). It was mostly bilateral (93%), not associated with upper motor neuron signs/symptoms (7%), and frequently decreased over time (39%).

In this article, we propose a consensus delineation of postoperative clinical target volumes for the primary tumour in maxillary sinus and nasal cavity cancers. These guidelines are developed based on radioanatomy and the natural history of those cancers. They require the fusion of the planning CT with preoperative imaging for accurate positioning of the initial GTV and the combined use of the geometric and anatomical concepts for the delineation of clinical target volume for the primary tumour.

Previous studies in Western diet (WD)-fed male rats have highlighted a link between the stimulation of cardiac contractility, mitochondrial adaptations and a pro-inflammatory fatty acid profile of phospholipids in the heart. Our objectives were to determine (1) if WD-fed female Wistar rats and obese humans display a similar pro-inflammatory profile in their cardiac phospholipids and (2) if this lipid profile is associated with deleterious effects on the heart of the female rodents. Female Wistar rats were fed WD for 5 weeks or a laboratory chow as a control.

Cardiovascular infections are the most severe and potentially lethal among the persistent focalized infections. While aortic infections on aneurysms or prostheses are well-known, with specific complications (risk of fatal rupture), new non-aortic vascular infections are increasingly being described thanks to the emerging use of 18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (F-FDG PET-scan). Here, we describe an infection of a femoro-popliteal bypass that would not have been diagnosed without the use of PET-scan.

Aims: Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease which induces chronic inflammation and increases the risk for sarcopenia and metabolic abnormalities. Nutritional strategies using omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids could be proposed to alleviate inflammation and improve the maintenance of lean mass. Independently, pharmacological agents targeting key molecular regulators of the pathology such as TNF alpha could be proposed, but multiple therapies are frequently necessary increasing the risk for toxicity and adverse effects.

Introduction: The number of cancer patients receiving long-term hemodialysis (HD) is increasing, and HD could jeopardize treatments' safety and efficacy. Therefore, managing anticancer drugs is critical in this frail population. In addition, evidence of HD safety or risk is regularly released both for cytotoxic chemotherapy (CT) or hormone therapy (HT) as well as new therapies with molecularly targeted therapies (MTT), immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI), and a summary of current knowledge is needed.

SUMOylation is a dynamic posttranslational modification, that provides fine-tuning of protein function involved in the cellular response to stress, differentiation, and tissue development. In the adrenal cortex, an emblematic endocrine organ that mediates adaptation to physiological demands, the SUMOylation gradient is inversely correlated with the gradient of cellular differentiation raising important questions about its role in functional zonation and the response to stress. Considering that SUMO-specific protease 2 (SENP2), a deSUMOylating enzyme, is upregulated by Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH)/cAMP-dependent Protein Kinase (PKA) signalling within the zona fasciculata, we generated mice with adrenal-specific Senp2 loss to address these questions.

The interest in revascularization of chronic total occlusions (CTO) of the coronary arteries during the last decade has not waned. It is one of the latest challenges for percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), requiring a specific organization of the patient pathway, dedicated equipment, and targeted medical expertise, now establishing CTO as a new discipline in interventional cardiology. Despite technical progress, the success rate of CTO-PCI is still lower than that of non-CTO-PCI, mainly due to guidewire failure.

Spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasias (SEMDs) belong to a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of inherited skeletal disorders defined by a defect in the growth and shape of vertebrae, epiphyses and metaphyses. Rhizomelic SEMD is characterized by a disproportionate small stature caused by severe shortening and deformation of the limbs' proximal bones, with the cranio-facial sphere unaffected. We report a second individual, an 8-year-old girl, with autosomal recessive rhizomelic SEMD associated with a homozygous exonic missense variant, c.

Purpose: Acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI) is a rare, but life-threatening condition occurring among critically ill patients. Several factors have been associated with AMI, but the causal link is debated, most studies being retrospective. Among these factors, enteral nutrition (EN) could be associated with AMI, in particular among patients with shock.
