[Advantages of simulation-based training in improving skills of beginners in interventional cardiology procedures: a Tunisian cross-sectional study].

Introduction: simulator training in interventional cardiology (ST) is an educational tool that is rapidly spreading worldwide. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the advantages of ST in improving skills of beginners in interventional cardiology procedures, through a short training cycle.

Methods: we conducted a before-and-after quasi-experimental evaluative study in the simulation center of the Faculty of Medicine in Sfax.

[Triple negative breast cancer: clinical, pathological and molecular characteristics].

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a very heterogeneous disease and refers to a subgroup of breast cancer. The purpose of this study was to describe the clinical, pathological and molecular features of TNBC. We conducted a retrospective analysis of 56 cases of TNBC diagnosed in the Department of Pathology at the Farhat Hached University Hospital over a period of three years (2018-2020).

[Ovarian pregnancy case study and literature review].

Ovarian pregnancy is a rare entity among ectopic pregnancies. Its diagnosis and management are not always easy. It is a particular pathology, the clinician is confronted with a poor clinical semiology and a difficult ultrasound diagnosis.

[Breast cancer and pregnancy: about 15 cases collected at the maternity center Monastir, Tunisia].

The purpose of this study was to describe the clinical, radiological, histological and therapeutic features of breast cancer diagnosed during pregnancy. We performed a review of all medical records of patients with breast cancer diagnosed during pregnancy in the Maternity and Neonatal Center, Monastir-Tunisia, over the period 2004-2019. We collected data on 15 cases.

[Therapeutic outcomes of nasopharyngeal carcinomas: a single-center study conducted at the Fattouma Bourguiba University Hospital in Monastir, Tunisia].

Introduction: nasopharyngeal carcinomas (NPCs) are relatively common in the Mediterranean basin. Survival has been greatly improved by new radiation techniques and new molecular-targeted chemotherapy. The purpose of our study was to analyze the therapeutic outcomes and to describe the prognostic factors of NPCs.

[Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis. Diagnostic and therapeutic problems. Report of three paediatric cases].

Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis (XGP) is an unusual and rare form of chronic renal suppuration in children, which appear to have a multifactorial pathogenesis. It is usually diffuse, but can remain localized to one part of the kidney, resulting in a misleading pseudoneoplastic appearance raising a problem of differential diagnosis with the other renal masses, particularly Wilms tumour. The authors present a retrospective analysis of three cases of XGP observed in the Monastir department of paediatric surgery.

[Intra-abdominal desmoplastic small round cell tumor in childhood: case report and review of the literature].

Desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) correspond to a recent clinicopathological entity, individualized in 1989 into the group of tumors with small round cells. This pathology puts ethiopathogenic, diagnostic, therapeutic and prognosis problems. Indeed, the ethiopathogenic is still unknown, diagnosis is asserted only by immuno-histochimic and cytogenetic study because of the big number of differential diagnoses and the anatomopathologic polymorphism.

[Malignant renal tumors before one year of age. Experience of a North African pediatric surgery service].

Unlabelled: The malignant tumours of the kidney are not very frequent during the first year of life and pose diagnostic and therapeutic problems. The aim of this work is to make an analysis of the epidemiologic, clinical and anatomo-pathological characteristics of these tumours during the first year of life and a development on the therapeutic methods and their results.

Material And Methods: [corrected] This is a retrospective study of 8 observations of malignant tumours of the kidney whose first symptomatology appeared during the first year of life.

[Pneumatic dilatation of caustic esophageal stenosis in children. Report of five cases].

Unlabelled: The ingestion of caustic substances is a frequent accident in the child. The treatment of caustic strictures of the esophagus, which constitute the most frightening complication, varies from conservative treatment to esophageal replacement. We report the preliminary results of a prospective work established since July 1998 and aimed at evaluating the role of pneumatic dilatation in the treatment of these injuries.
