There is no consensus in the literature regarding the optimal treatment for complex proximal humerus fractures (PHFs). The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical, functional, and radiological outcomes, and complications, associated with the Bilboquet implant in the treatment of PHFs. The search was conducted from the first description of the Bilboquet device in 1994 to June 2024, across PubMed, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, using specific keywords such as ("Bilboquet" OR "Bilboquet prosthesis" OR "Bilboquet device") AND ("proximal humerus fracture" OR "shoulder fracture"), along with Boolean operators.

Objective: Few studies have evaluated the efficacy of antiseizure medications (ASMs) according to the etiology of neonatal acute provoked seizures. We aimed to investigate the response to ASMs in term/near term neonates with acute arterial ischemic stroke (AIS), as well as the type of seizure at presentation and the monitoring approach.
Methods: We retrospectively evaluated neonates from 15 European level IV neonatal intensive care units who presented with seizures due to AIS and were monitored by continuous electroencephalography (cEEG) and/or amplitude-integrated EEG (aEEG) in whom actual recordings, timing, doses, and response to ASMs were available for review.

Background Diagnosing anterior cruciate ligament rupture is challenging, particularly due to the subjective nature of clinical laxity assessments. Objective evaluation methods are necessary for consistency and publication in clinical research. This study aims to assess the reproducibility of the GNRB® knee arthrometer (GeNouRoB, Laval, France) across different examiners and to examine the associated learning curve for a junior examiner.

Seed dormancy corresponds to a reversible blockage of germination. Primary dormancy is established during seed maturation, while secondary dormancy is set up on the dispersed seed, following an exposure to unfavorable factors. Both dormancies are relieved in response to environmental factors, such as light, nitrate, and coldness.

In recent years, preoperative planning has undergone significant advancements, with a dual focus: improving the accuracy of implant placement and enhancing the prediction of functional outcomes. These breakthroughs have been made possible through the development of advanced processing methods for 3D preoperative images. These methods not only offer novel visualization techniques but can also be seamlessly integrated into computer-aided design models.

Chondroblastoma metastasis, though rare, represents a clinically significant and notably important aspect of bone tumors. Understanding its epidemiological characteristics, pathological features, and treatment modalities, despite its infrequency, is imperative for comprehensive patient management. This review aims to elucidate the epidemiology, molecular mechanisms, diagnostic challenges, and therapeutic strategies associated with chondroblastoma metastasis.

Background: The use of thrombectomy in patients with acute stroke and a large infarct of unrestricted size has not been well studied.
Methods: We assigned, in a 1:1 ratio, patients with proximal cerebral vessel occlusion in the anterior circulation and a large infarct (as defined by an Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomographic Score of ≤5; values range from 0 to 10) detected on magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography within 6.5 hours after symptom onset to undergo endovascular thrombectomy and receive medical care (thrombectomy group) or to receive medical care alone (control group).

The prognosis of relapsed primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) remains dismal. CAR T-cells are a major contributor to systemic lymphomas, but their use in PCNSL is limited. From the LOC network database, we retrospectively selected PCNSL who had leukapheresis for CAR-T cells from the third line of treatment, and, as controls, PCNSL treated with any treatment, at least in the third line and considered not eligible for ASCT.

In 2019-2022, a prolonged outbreak of oxacillinase (OXA)-48-producing due to a persistent environmental contamination, occurred in our haematology intensive care unit. In April 2019, we isolated OXA-48-producing from rectal samples of two patients in weekly screenings. The cases had stayed in the same hospital room but 4 months apart.

Background And Aims: There is significant potential to streamline the clinical pathway for patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of implementing BENCHMARK best practices on the efficiency and safety of TAVI in 28 sites in 7 European countries.
Methods: This was a study of patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis (AS) undergoing TAVI with balloon-expandable valves before and after implementation of BENCHMARK best practices.

Splenomegaly is the clinical hallmark of myelofibrosis. Splenomegaly at the time of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is associated with graft failure and poor graft function. Strategies to reduce spleen size before HCT especially after failure to Janus kinase (JAK) inhibition represent unmet clinical needs in the field.

Mesenchymal chondrosarcomas are extremely rare and aggressive tumors that primarily affect patients between the ages of 20 and 30. These neoplasms are typically found in the lower limbs and cranial region. Their occurrence within soft tissues is exceedingly rare, and the initial presentation often includes immediate metastatic dissemination.
