Objective: The objective of our study was to define relevant MRI signs allowing preoperative diagnosis of posterior cul-de-sac obliteration in patients with deep pelvic endometriosis.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included patients who underwent pelvic MRI completed by a laparoscopic examination. Three radiologists performed the MRI review blinded and recorded the following signs: sign 1, retroflexed uterus; sign 2, retrouterine mass; sign 3, displacement of intraperitoneal fluid; sign 4, elevation of the fornix; and sign 5, adherence of bowel loops.

Objective: To assess the atmospheric concentrations of methyl methacrylate (MMA) vapors during percutaneous vertebroplasty for the interventional radiologist and the other operating room staff.

Materials And Methods: During percutaneous vertebroplasty, a polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) mixture (about 20 mL) was prepared with a mixing system in a normally ventilated room. Atmospheric concentrations of MMA vapors were measured by a gas absorbent badge for individual exposure (GABIE) passive sampler attached to the surgical gowns of the interventional radiologist and the other operating room staff over a period of 460 min.

Discography test associated with the scanner (discoscanner) is an exam that has been a renewed interest in recent few years. Thanks to the emergence of new interventions such as disc prosthesis, the procedures require confirmation of the disc level to deal with and the origin of discogenic symptoms. The aim of this paper is to describe the techniques, challenges and tips as well as the interpretation of functional and morphological examination.

Objective: MRI was the first imaging technique to permit the visualization of the uterine junctional zone and remains the imaging method of choice to evaluate it and its associated pathology.

Conclusion: Adenomyosis can be diagnosed using MRI with a diagnostic accuracy of 85%. The most important MR finding in making the diagnosis is thickness of the junctional zone exceeding 12 mm.

[Splenic artery aneurysm: diagnosis and endovascular therapy].

Service d'Imagerie Médicale, Centre Hospitalier Régional et Universitaire de Nice, Hôpital L'Archet 2, 151 Route Saint Antoine de Ginestière, BP 3079, 06202 Nice Cedex 3.

Splenic artery aneurysms are now diagnosed more frequently thanks to the increase and improvement in different imaging techniques. In case of rupture they are potentially life threatening and thus in certain cases may require appropriate preventive treatment. This treatment should be offered to patients with suspected pseudoaneurysms, with an aneurysm larger than 20mm in diameter, or which is progressing.

The incidence of prostate cancer increases with age and because of its high prevalence this disease has become a major public health concern. Despite advances in our understanding of the biological mechanisms responsible for the development of this cancer, the transition to the hormone refractory stage (HRPC) and metastatic progression pose real problems of clinical management. Currently, docetaxel chemotherapy has been shown to have a slight but significant impact on survival, though the gain in median survival is still less than three months.

Many atypical locations for deep endometriosis exist that are not well known to both the radiologist and gynecologist. This work explores these unusual localizations, which we have arbitrarily grouped under the term "anterior endometriosis" in contrast to the more common posterior presentation of deep endometriosis that has been so well described in the literature. Parietal and inguinal involvement is first detailed, followed by a description of deep endometriosis involving the urinary system and anterior supporting ligaments of the uterus.

Introduction And Hypothesis: We wanted to show that at the time of cesarean delivery, the active process of labor itself was sufficient to create early alterations of the pelvic floor musculature as detectable via magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Methods: Thirty primipara patients underwent pelvic MRI between the second and third day after cesarean delivery. Ten patients had a cesarean without labor while 20 patients underwent urgent cesarean delivery after the onset of labor.

Prognosis for endometrial carcinoma is closely related to cell type and tumor grade but also to local staging using the FIGO classification. MRI, under specific technical conditions, allows excellent depiction of the degree of myometrial tumor extension. It also has an excellent specificity for the detection of cervical extension.

Ocular melanoma has a strong tendency to metastasize often several years after its initial diagnosis was made. We report on the case of a 50-year-old woman who was treated 20 years earlier for an ocular melanoma and currently seen regularly in our institute for liver metastases that were treated by chemotherapy. After three treatments, a check-up with computed tomography demonstrated the presence of a right ovarian mass.

A 39-year-old patient was evaluated for pelvic pain and infection following a surgical abortion performed via aspiration curettage. A pelvic computed tomography (CT) revealed an invagination of fat in the uterine wall accompanied by an abscess in the rectouterine pouch. Laparoscopic exploration revealed an incarcerated cecal appendix within the myometrium with necrosis of the appendiceal base as the culprit.
