Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales are pathogens classified as a critical priority by the World Health Organization and a burden on human health worldwide. IMI, NmcA, and FRI are under-detected class A carbapenemases that have been reported in the human, animal and environmental compartments, particularly these last 5 years. Bacteria producing these carbapenemases have been mostly identified in digestive carriage screenings, but they are also involved in severe infections, such as bacteremia.

Background: The prevalence and short-term cardiovascular consequences of recent cannabis use in patients admitted to an intensive cardiac care unit for acute coronary syndrome is not well established.
Aims: To assess the prevalence of recent cannabis use detected by prospective systematic screening, and its prognostic value in predicting the occurrence of in-hospital major adverse events in consecutive patients with acute coronary syndrome.
Methods: From 07 to 22 April 2021, all consecutive patients admitted to an intensive cardiac care unit in 39 centres throughout France were studied prospectively.

Objective: Central vein occlusion (CVO) is a significant complication in patients undergoing chronic hemodialysis, often leading to dialysis inefficacy, disabling symptoms, and, most critically, major risk of access failure. Although stenting has been proposed as a technique to maintain vascular access patency following the recanalization of occluded central veins, the data supporting its long-term efficacy remains limited. This study aims to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of stenting occluded superior vena cava (SVC) and/or brachiocephalic veins to preserve vascular access patency, ensure continued dialysis efficacy, and relieve SVC syndrome.

Background: Although bed baths are known to cause pain, the engendered pain frequency and intensity remain poorly studied. This prospective, observational study was undertaken to examine prospectively, on a given day, patients' bed bath-associated pain in the general in-hospital population.
Methods: Eight external investigators observed 166 bed baths given in 23 units in 5 hospitals.

Background: Factors associated with severe COVID-19 infection have been identified; however, the impact of infection on longer-term outcomes is unclear. The objective of this study was to examine the impact of COVID-19 infection on the trajectory of lung function and nutritional status in people with cystic fibrosis (pwCF).
Methods: This is a retrospective global cohort study of pwCF who had confirmed COVID-19 infection diagnosed between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021.

Background: Elexacaftor-tezacaftor-ivacaftor has been approved in Europe for people with cystic fibrosis with at least one F508del CFTR variant. Additionally, it is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for people with cystic fibrosis with at least one of 177 rare variants. The aims of this study were to describe the clinical response to elexacaftor-tezacaftor-ivacaftor for people with cystic fibrosis without a F508del CFTR variant in France and to determine CFTR variant responsiveness to elexacaftor-tezacaftor-ivacaftor based on the observed clinical response.

Introduction: Pink urine syndrome is a rare, poorly understood condition, often prompted by obesity, insulin resistance, and the drug propofol. It is characterized by pink urine or urine sediment and occurs in the absence of a heme or food-based pigment. The pathophysiology of this syndrome is not yet fully understood but is linked to a uric acid metabolism disorder.

Introduction: Revisional bariatric surgery (RBS) for insufficient weight loss/weight regain or metabolic relapse is increasing worldwide. There is currently no large multinational, prospective data on 30-day morbidity and mortality of RBS. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the 30-day morbidity and mortality of RBS at participating centres.

While objective clinical structured examination (OSCE) is a worldwide recognized and effective method to assess clinical skills of undergraduate medical students, the latest Ottawa conference on the assessment of competences raised vigorous debates regarding the future and innovations of OSCE. This study aimed to provide a comprehensive view of the global research activity on OSCE over the past decades and to identify clues for its improvement. We performed a bibliometric and scientometric analysis of OSCE papers published until March 2024.

Background: Veno-Venous Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (VV-ECMO) is an efficient ventilatory support in patients with refractory Covid-19-related Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), however the duration of invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) before ECMO initiation as a contraindication is still controversial. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of prolonged IMV prior to VV-ECMO in patients suffering from refractory Covid-19-related ARDS.
Methods: This single-center retrospective study included all patients treated with VV-ECMO for refractory Covid-19-related ARDS between January 1, 2020 and May 31, 2022.

Background: Intensive cardiac care units (ICCUs) were created to manage ventricular arrhythmias after acute coronary syndromes, but have diversified to include a more heterogeneous population, the characteristics of which are not well depicted by conventional methods.
Aims: To identify ICCU patient subgroups by phenotypic unsupervised clustering integrating clinical, biological, and echocardiographic data to reveal pathophysiological differences.
Methods: During 7-22 April 2021, we recruited all consecutive patients admitted to ICCUs in 39 centers.

Objectives: Determining the best available therapy for carbapenem-resistant (CRAB) infections is a challenge. Cefiderocol is an attractive alternative drug effective against many resistance mechanisms in Gram-negative bacteria. However, its place in the treatment of infections remains unclear and much debated, with contradictory results.

Introduction: Pesticides are used worldwide, mainly in agriculture as a means of controlling pests and protecting crops. That said, the entire world population is ultimately subject to pesticide exposure (consumption of fruits and vegetables, living near treated fields…), with varying degrees of toxicity involved.
State Of The Art: In recent decades, epidemiological studies have contributed to the identification of chemical pesticide families with detrimental effects on human health: cognitive disorders, Parkinson's disease, prostate cancer… and impairment in respiratory functioning.
