Background: Venous outflow is the favored access for endovascular management of dialysis fistulas. However, transradial access (TRA) offers advantages in specific clinical scenarios. The study aims to compare the efficacy, feasibility, and safety of TRA and transvenous access (TVA) in the endovascular management of malfunctioning dialysis fistulas, addressing the existing gap in comprehensive literature.

Shaping tomorrow: how the STEP training course pioneered noninvasive brain stimulation training for psychiatry in France.

Over the past three decades, non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) techniques have gained worldwide attention and demonstrated therapeutic potential in various medical fields, particularly psychiatry. The emergence of these novel techniques has led to an increased need for robust training programs to provide practitioners, whether clinicians or scientists, with the necessary skills and knowledge. In response, a comprehensive training curriculum for NIBS in psychiatry has been developed in France.

A Multicenter Retrospective Study Evaluating Distal Radial Access vs. Conventional Transradial or Transvenous Access for Endovascular Treatment of Malfunctioning Dialysis Fistulas.

Background: This study aims to evaluate the feasibility, efficacy, and safety of distal transradial access (dRA) for the endovascular management of malfunctioning dialysis fistulas. This study also compares dRA with conventional access techniques, such as proximal radial and transvenous access, focusing on technical success, clinical outcomes, and vascular access site complications (VASCs).

Methods: A retrospective multicenter study was conducted across four hospitals, including 292 patients treated between January 2019 and June 2024.

Do SMS/e-mail reminders increase influenza vaccination of rheumatoid arthritis patients under anti-TNF: a nested randomized controlled trial in the ART e-cohort.

Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of short message service (SMS) and/or email reminders in improving influenza vaccination coverage rates among rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients treated with anti-TNF therapies, and to identify factors associated with vaccination.

Methods: A nested randomized controlled trial in the ART e-cohort, an ongoing French nationwide multicentre prospective cohort of RA patients treated with anti-TNF therapy. Patients were 1:1 randomized, with stratification on age.

Relationships between cognition, functioning, and quality of life of euthymic patients with bipolar disorder: Structural equation modeling with the FACE-BD cohort.

Background: Quality of life is decreased in bipolar disorders (BD) and contributes to poor prognosis. However, little is known about the causal pathways that may affect it. This study aimed to explore health-related QoL (HRQoL) in BD and investigate its relationship with cognition and psychosocial functioning.

Development of a new digital sexual health assessment tool to help patients better understand the factors involved in their sexual disorders - "The Sexual Dysfunction Evaluation Tool" (SEXDET).

Introduction: A visual digital tool called SEXual Dysfunction Evaluation Tool (SEX-DET) was created for assessing the causes of sexual dysfunction, based on a biopsychosocialsexual and relational schema, to assist patients in understanding the relative influence of the various factors contributing to their sexual dysfunction. The aim of this study was to evaluate satisfaction of this tool in sexual dysfunction patients and practitioners.

Methods: A satisfaction study of the SEX-DET was performed in 50 patients (20 F, 30 M) consulting for a sexual trouble and 3 practitioners.

[Antibiotic treatment of invasive meningococcal infections].

ANTIBIOTIC TREATMENT OF INVASIVE MENINGOCOCCAL INFECTION. Invasive meningococcal infections (IMI) are extremely severe pathologies that justify very early antibiotic therapy to limit complications and death. Three different situations may arise: 1) clinical suspicion of purpura fulminans in the pre-hospital setting, 2 confirmed or strongly suspected IMI, 3) post-exposure chemoprophylaxis of a patient's contacts.

French validation of the sexual complaints screener (SCS) for patients with multiple sclerosis.

Background: Sexual dysfunctions are frequent in the general population and even more frequent in individuals with chronic neurological disorders like multiple sclerosis (MS). Several studies indicate that patients would like healthcare workers to address sexual problems. Indeed, such complaints are not currently sufficiently detected and treated.

Impact of expected blood pressure reduction on patient preferences for pharmaceutical and renal denervation treatment.

Background: Effective patient-centered care requires an adequate understanding of patient preferences for different therapeutic options. We modelled patient preference for blood pressure (BP) management by pharmaceutical or interventional treatments such as renal denervation in patients with different profiles of uncontrolled hypertension.

Methods: Modeling was based on the findings from a previously conducted quantitative discrete choice experiment (DCE).

Efficacy and tolerance of hyperthermic intravesical chemotherapy (HIVEC) according to the number of instillations administered.

Purpose: To report the oncological outcomes and the tolerance between 6 instillations and more than 6 cycles of hyperthermic intravesical chemotherapy(HIVEC) in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer(NMIBC).

Methods: This is a multicenter retrospective study from a national database including 9 expert centers. All patients treated with HIVEC between 2016 and 2023 for NMIBC were included.

Real-life nationwide characteristics and outcomes of small cell lung cancer over the last 20 years: Impact of immunotherapy on overall survival in a real-life setting.

Background: The KBP studies are real-life nationwide, prospective, multicenter cohort studies of patients diagnosed with primary lung cancer that have been conducted in French non-academic public hospitals each decade since 2000.

Methods: Patients were analyzed in three prospective cohorts using the same methodology. In this study, we describe and compare the characteristics and outcomes of patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC), with a focus on treatments in the 2020 cohort.

Automatic identification of ablation targets in persistent atrial fibrillation: Initial experience with a new mapping tool.

Introduction: Strategies beyond pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) in persistent atrial fibrillation (persAF) are debated. A novel mapping tool provides algorithmic detection of ablation targets based on electrogram (EGM) properties specific to stable localized rotational activations.

Methods: The mapping tool was used on 31 patients (20 de novo).

Diet quality and associations with lactate and metabolic syndrome in bipolar disorder.

Background: Nutrition is largely affected in bipolar disorder (BD), however, there is a lack of understanding on the relationship between dietary categories, BD, and the prevalence of metabolic syndrome. The objective of this study is to examine dietary trends in BD and it is hypothesized that diets with increased consumption of seafood and high-fiber carbohydrates will be correlated to improved patient outcomes, and a lower frequency of metabolic syndrome.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study includes two French cohorts.

Investigating the intricate relationship between the tumor stromal microenvironment, biomarkers, and the response to transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) is essential for early identification of TACE refractoriness or failure, providing insights into tumor biology and facilitating personalized therapeutic interventions. This study addresses a dearth of recent literature exploring the prognostic significance of the preoperative LMR in individuals from western countries diagnosed with stage B hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) undergoing drug eluting microspheres TACE (DEM-TACE) or conventional TACE (cTACE).
