Carfilzomib-associated thrombotic microangiopathy: clinical features and outcomes.

Background: Carfilzomib, a new proteasome inhibitor indicated for patients with relapsed/refractory myeloma, has been associated with cases of thrombotic microangiopathy (CFZ-TMA). The role of variants in the complement alternative pathway and therapeutic potential of complement blockade with eculizumab remain to be determined.

Methods: We report 37 cases of CFZ-TMA recorded in the French reference center for TMA with their clinical characteristics, genetic analysis and outcome according to treatments.

The frequency of corticospinal tract (CST) T2/FLAIR hyperintensity in disorders with neuroglial antibodies is unclear. Herein, we retrospectively reviewed brain MRIs of 101 LGI1-antibody encephalitis patients, and observed CST hyperintensity in 30/101 (30%). It was mostly bilateral (93%), not associated with upper motor neuron signs/symptoms (7%), and frequently decreased over time (39%).

We used data from 566 adults enrolled in both waves of the nationwide ORISCAV-LUX study (2007-2017).

MRI classification of uterosacral ligament involvement in endometriosis: the Hôtel-Dieu classification.

Objective: This study aimed to establish the first-ever MRI classification of uterosacral ligament (USL) involvement in deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE), based on reliable preoperative MRI features correlated with positive predictive values (PPVs) determined through histopathological analysis.

Methods: Twenty-two women underwent surgery with histopathology due to symptoms highly suggestive of endometriosis. The 22 preoperative MRIs were analysed retrospectively, blinded to histopathology, and a classification of the preoperative aspect of USLs linked to PPVs was designed.

Background: Among all studies describing COVID-19 clinical features during the first wave of the pandemic, only a few retrospective studies have assessed the correlation between olfac-tory dysfunction (OD) and the evolution of disease severity. Objective(s): Many patients with Essure® implant may experience adverse events related to the device. Although local inflammation does not appear to be the pathophysiological mechanism underlying the symptoms, systemic inflammation could play a role. In the present study, as cytokines are involved in the inflammatory process, we proposed to investigate the profile of circulating and peritoneal cytokines.

Case Report: Mast cell anergy: absence of symptoms after accidental re-exposure to amoxicillin/clavulanic acid 3 days after anaphylaxis.

Empty mast cell syndrome, also named post anaphylaxis mast cell anergy (PAMA), is a temporary state of loss of mast cell responsiveness after a severe immediate hypersensitivity reaction. In this study, we describe a case of PAMA after accidental re-exposure to amoxicillin in a patient who developed severe anaphylaxis to this drug three days earlier in the operating room. To our knowledge, this report is the second to document this phenomenon.
