Anaplastic large cell T-cell lymphoma: insights from cytological and immunological profiles across ten diverse cases.

While the latest WHO classification of hematological neoplasms helps refine the diagnostic criteria for anaplastic large cell lymphomas (ALCL), their diagnosis can still be challenging. This retrospective series of 10 ALCL cases illustrates the cytological appearance and immunological profile obtained through flow cytometry (FCM) from various sample types, including lymph node biopsies (LN), peripheral blood (PB), cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), and pleural fluid (PF). ALCL exhibits a polymorphic cytological appearance, ranging from "doughnut" cells to Hodgkin-like cells, very large cells, and small cells, with this polymorphism being particularly pronounced in ALK (-) forms.

Evaluation of a New Tandem Mass Spectrometry Method for Sickle Cell Disease Newborn Screening.

In France, sickle cell disease newborn screening (SCD NBS) has been targeted to at-risk regions since 1984, but generalization to the whole population will be implemented from November 2024. Factors influencing the turnover of nurses in French intensive care unit - A multicenter interview survey.

Background: Nurse retention is a major concern in healthcare settings, especially among intensive care units (ICU), in which nurses are highly specialized. The objective was to describe the nurse courses after their entrance into the ICU, their motivation for leaving the ICU, and to identify the independent factors that influenced the nurse resignation from their units.

Methods: In 3 different centers, every ICU nurse working between 2013 and 2023 was telephonically contacted and was asked to describe their career and, when appropriate, the reasons that influenced their resignation from their units; they rated on a Likert scale of 14 factors that influenced their decision.

Changes in Respiratory Syncytial Virus-Associated Hospitalisations Epidemiology After Nirsevimab Introduction in Lyon, France.

Background: Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a major health concern, particularly for infants. In France, Nirsevimab, a long-acting monoclonal antibody to prevent RSV-associated lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI) was available from September 2023. We described RSV-associated LRTI hospitalisations during the 2023-2024 season among infants younger than six months born at the Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL), and evaluated the effectiveness of Nirsevimab against RSV-LRTI hospitalisation.

Uterine artery projection relative to anatomical bony landmarks in CT-angiographies.

Purpose: The aim was to find bony landmarks of the pelvis for the origins and routes of uterine arteries, hoping to improve speed and safety of embolization procedures (leiomyoma, post-partum bleedings…).

Methods: We carried out a study based on the analysis of CT-angiographies in arterial phases of whole-body scans. Two measurements were done per artery, one from the origin of uterine arteries to a first perpendicular line passing through the lowest part of the sacroiliac joint, another one from the beginning of the parametrial segment from a second parallel line passing by the acetabular roof.

Contribution of ultrasound in the management of ballistic nerve injury during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war.

Purpose: To evaluate the contribution of ultrasound in the management of ballistic peripheral nerve injuries (BPNI).

Methods: Twenty-five Armenian soldiers who sustained BPNI of 44 different nerves during the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War in 2020 benefited from multidisciplinary team management including ultrasound examination.

Results: The injuries affected the upper limb in 17 cases (including 2 bilateral cases), the lower limb in 7 cases and both upper and lower limb in 1 case.

This review explores the ecological transformation of SP, offering a global overview of existing challenges and sustainable initiatives worldwide.While some countries, such as the UK and France, have developed national strategies to reduce the carbon footprint of healthcare, including SP, many regions remain at an early stage of implementing green practices.

MRI management of NMOSD and MOGAD: Proposals from the French Expert Group NOMADMUS.

Background: Currently, there are no available recommendations or guidelines on how to perform MRI monitoring in the management of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD). The issue is to determine a valuable MRI monitoring protocol to be applied in the management of NMOSD and MOGAD, as previously proposed for the monitoring of multiple sclerosis.

Objectives: The objectives of this work are to establish proposals for a standardized and feasible MRI acquisition protocol, and to propose control time points for systematic MRI monitoring in the management of NMOSD and MOGAD.

Food choices, microstructure of ingestive behavior and sensory perceptions after bariatric surgery in women: A cross-sectional study.

Unlabelled: Results regarding the impact of bariatric surgery (BS) on food choices are inconsistent between studies based on self-reported questionnaires, and those using direct measurements. Moreover, the determinants of the modifications of food choices after BS, if any, are still poorly understood. This study compared food choices, food liking, microstructure of ingestive behavior and sensory perceptions between women who had BS in the last 18 months (BS group, n = 19; Roux-en-Y gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy) and women with BMI ≥35 kg m (OB group, n = 17) in ecological conditions and explored the associations of food choices with sensory perceptions and food liking.

Multisocietal Consensus on the Use of Cytoreductive Surgery and HIPEC for the Treatment of Diffuse Malignant Peritoneal Mesothelioma: A GRADE Approach for Evidence Evaluation and Recommendation.

The Peritoneal Surface Oncology Group International (PSOGI) previously issued a recommendation endorsing cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for treating diffuse malignant peritoneal mesothelioma (DMPM). However, broader acceptance of this approach, particularly within some segments of medical oncology, remains limited. To address this, PSOGI initiated a multisociety consensus effort, involving multidisciplinary International Societies, to strengthen and expand the endorsement of CRS-HIPEC for DMPM.

A rapid progression from classical mantle cell lymphoma to a blastoid variant.

This case report presents an 82-year-old male initially diagnosed with classical mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) that progressed to the aggressive blastoid variant. The patient was initially treated with oral chemotherapy (PEP-C), followed by ibrutinib, but experienced disease progression with central nervous system (CNS) involvement and blastoid morphology. Despite subsequent intensive treatment, including high-dose cytarabine (Cytarabine), rituximab, and intrathecal methotrexate (Methotrexate), the patient's disease continued to advance, resulting in death.
