Introduction: The 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has caused a public health crisis worldwide. Concerns have been expressed about the rapid deterioration of mental health among primary care physicians among whom burnout already had a high prevalence prior to the pandemic. However, there is little data on private doctors during the pandemic.

Long-term benzodiazepine prescription in treatment-resistant depression: A national FACE-TRD prospective study.

Background: Benzodiazepine long-term use (BLTU) is a public health challenge. We lack data on the consequences of LBTU on the trajectory of treatment-resistant depression (TRD).

Objective: To determine the prevalence of BLTU in a nationwide non-selected population of patients with TRD, to determine the rate of patients succeeding at withdrawing benzodiazepines at one year and to determine if persistent BLTU is associated with poorer mental health outcomes.

Relevance and Feasibility of Group Traumatic Episode Protocol Delivered to Migrants: A Pilot Field Study.

Antifungal treatments may be overused due to a lack of diagnostic tools to rule out IAC. Serum 1,3-Beta-D-Glucan (BDG) concentrations are used to diagnose Candida infections, its concentration in peritoneal fluid (PF) may help to confirm or invalidate the diagnosis of IAC.

Processing of basic auditory features, one of the earliest stages of auditory perception, has been the focus of considerable investigations in schizophrenia. Although numerous studies have shown abnormalities in pitch perception in schizophrenia, other basic auditory features such as intensity, duration, and sound localization have been less explored. Additionally, the relationship between basic auditory features and symptom severity shows inconsistent results, preventing concrete conclusions.

The coordination between substance use and mental health services in correctional settings and in the community is fundamental to ensure treatment continuity for these people.

Schizophrenia is associated with early neurodevelopmental disorders, including most frequently learning disorders (LD), among them dyslexia and dyspraxia. Despite the demonstrated links between schizophrenia and LD, specific clinical patterns of the schizophrenia with a history of LD subgroup remain unknown. Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study in two level 3 maternity units of the Hospices civils de Lyon (France) including all patients with a monochorionic twin pregnancy between January 2013 and December 2020. We excluded TRAP sequences and conjoined twins.

Background: Antipsychotics are used in a large variety of psychiatric and neurological disorders; investigating their use in real life is important to understand national prescribing practices, as well as to determine the levels of patient adherence.

Methods: Using a 1/97e random sample (General Sample of Beneficiaries, EGB) of the French health insurance reimbursement database, we conducted a historical cohort study on the 2007-2017 period. The aim was to describe the sociodemographic characteristics of patients, the types of antipsychotics dispensed, the types of prescribers, the mean doses and average durations of treatment, the co-dispensed medications, and the levels of adherence to treatment.

High-Frequency Transcranial Random Noise Stimulation for Auditory Hallucinations of Schizophrenia: A Case Series.

Transcranial electrical stimulation has been proposed as a noninvasive therapeutic approach for reducing treatment-resistant symptoms of schizophrenia-in particular, auditory hallucinations. However, the high variability observed in the clinical response leaves much room to optimize the stimulation parameters and strengthen its benefits. We proposed to investigate the effects of high-frequency transcranial random noise stimulation (hf-tRNS), which is supposed to induce larger effects than conventional direct current stimulation.

One of the most debilitating aspects of depression is the dominance and persistence of depressive rumination, a state of mind that is linked to onset and recurrence of depression. Mindfulness meditation trains adaptive attention regulation and present-moment embodied awareness, skills that may be particularly useful during depressive mind states characterized by negative ruminative thoughts.
