Purpose: To examine the absolute number and the proportions of articles published in general high-ranked ophthalmology journals for each ophthalmic subspecialty during the last decade, and to examine the publishing trends over the study period.
Methods: All original articles published between January 2010 and December 2019 in the selected general clinical ophthalmic journals were included in the study. All abstracts of original articles were reviewed and deemed to be related to 1 of the 11 ophthalmic subspecialties.

The aim of this study was to report unusual progression of type 2 macular neovascularization (MNV) associated with age-related macular degeneration (AMD), high myopia or angioid streaks. Retrospective multicentric observational case series data were used. Eyes that progressed from type 2 MNV secondary to AMD, high myopia or angioid streaks to fibrovascular pigment epithelial detachment (PED) were included.

- Adjustable gastric banding (AGB) often leads to complications requiring conversion to sleeve gastrectomy (SG), which can be done in one or two steps.
- A nationwide study in France analyzed outcomes for morbidly obese patients converting from AGB to SG between 2007 and 2012 to compare the 1-step and 2-step approaches regarding postoperative risks.
- Results showed higher readmission and complication rates in the 1-step group, while the 2-step method was linked to fewer severe postoperative issues, indicating a safer option for patients.
