Medical analysis laboratories play an essential role in medical diagnosis, with their results influencing up to 70% of decisions. This means that the quality of laboratory services is a key factor in the quality of medical care. However, certification and accreditation are not yet compulsory in Morocco, and only the Guide to the Good Execution of Medical Biology Analyses (GBEA) published in 2011 governs the organisation of laboratories.

Median Pancreatectomy for Frantz Tumor: Management of a Splenic Artery Aneurysm by Radiological Embolization.

Iatrogenic aneurysms of the splenic artery constitute a rare yet potentially severe complication arising from diverse medical or surgical interventions. The clinical complexity and challenging management strategies associated with these aneurysms pose significant difficulties for clinicians. This circumstance is exemplified in our case report, detailing an iatrogenic aneurysm of the splenic artery that emerged secondary to a pancreatic fistula following a median pancreatectomy performed for a Frantz tumor.

Closed traumatism of the distal pancreas (A case series of 6 patients).

Introduction And Importance: The aim of this retrospective study was to present six cases of trauma to the distal pancreas, highlighting the challenges associated with their diagnosis and management, while underlining their seriousness and the various complications potentially encountered. Our case series highlights individual patient outcomes, demonstrating the diversity of clinical presentations and the importance of customized treatment strategies.

Neuromeningeal cryptococcosis is a common and severe opportunistic fungal infection caused by the encapsulated yeast Cryptococcus neoformans. It commonly occurs in immunocompromised patients, in particular in subjects with advanced stage HIV while it is rare in immunocompetent patients. We report 40 cases of neuromeningeal cryptococcosis (NMC) diagnosed at the Mycology-Parasitology Department of the Ibn Sina hospital in Rabat, over a 21-year period (1993-2014).

[Profile of Von Willebrand factor antigen in pregnancy: descriptive study of 390 pregnant women in Morocco].

Von Willebrand factor (vWF) is a glycoprotein which plays an important role in hemostasis. Its quantitative or qualitative deficit results in von Willebrand's disease (vWD). The study aims to update the current understanding of the distribution of vWF rates in Moroccan pregnant women and their variability in function of the ABO blood group.

Imported malaria: 54 cases diagnosed at the Ibn Sina Hospital Center in Rabat, Morocco.

Morocco does not record any indigenous malaria case since 2004 and is certified by the World Health Organization as malaria-free since 2010. However, the country continues to record a significant number of imported malaria cases from endemic areas, especially from West Africa. The purpose of our work is to determine the epidemiological and diagnostic characteristics of malaria cases diagnosed at Ibn Sina Hospital Center in Rabat, Morocco.

Corono-radicular dilaceration of a maxillary central incisor: A case report.

Coronoradicular dilaceration is a particular abnormality of the permanent incisors, usually maxillary, and usually occurs around the age of 4 to 5 when the crown is formed and the root is still growing. It follows acute mechanical trauma affecting the temporary incisor. This anomaly of shape is characterized by an angulation between the crown and the root of the permanent tooth.

Introduction: Centralized preparation of anticancer drugs meets quality and safety objectives. Its economic interest has been the subject of several studies, with very heterogeneous methodological approaches.

Objective: This study evaluates the economic impact of the centralization of the preparation of chemotherapy in the national institute of oncology of Rabat, the referral institute in the management of cancer in Morocco.

[Hemogram profile and interest of pre-donation hemoglobin measurement in blood donors in the northwest region of Morocco].

Background: Blood donation in Morocco and more particularly in the northwest region is carried out without prior determination of the pre-donation hemoglobin. In addition, we note the lack of scientific research that reports data on the red blood cells, leukocytes and platelet lines in donated blood at the regional or even national level.

Aims: To study hemogram profile in blood donors taken from the Northwest region of Morocco in order to provide decision makers of the National Center of Blood Transfusion and Hematology with valid scientific arguments to complete the criteria to donate whole blood, by the hemogram.

Relationships between facial divergence and DMD parameters.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between facial divergence and the parameters of dentomaxillary discrepancy (DMD), in particular crowding, the curve of Spee and the position of the incisors in the sagittal dimension.

Material And Methods: A total of 90 young adult patients was selected from among the Moroccan orthodontic population attending the dentofacial orthopedic department and satisfying the following inclusion criteria: complete permanent dentition and a skeletal class I pattern with no previous orthodontic treatment, no crossbite, no periodontal disease, no mandibular asymmetry and no condylodiscal disunion. On cephalometric tracings, measurements were made of angles FMA, Go-Gn/SN, Occ/SN in the vertical direction, and of the values I/NA et i/NB in the sagittal direction.

[Epidemiological profile of hemoglobinopathies: a cross-sectional and descriptive index case study].

Hemoglobinopathies are congenital disorders resultimg from hemoglobin abnormalities. Major forms are often severe, their management is difficult and associated with a great psychosocial impact on patients and their families. They are classified as rare diseases and are still insufficiently known by health professionals.

Hepatic hematoma is a condition of unrecognized origin which can become extremely serious and whose diagnosis is often made during perinatal autopsy. It is often characterised by nonspecific clinical manifestations and a long delay before biological presentation.The diagnosis is essentially based on ultrasound and treatment is often conservative.

Introduction: Edentulous patients often hope for stable and retentive prostheses. In very unfavorable anatomophysiological circumstances, the implant-retained removable full denture is a simple and reliable option that considerably optimizes the prosthetic balance. We present the case of one of those patients taken in charge in our department.

[Evaluation of hemogram in patients with homozygous sickle cell disease: about 87 cases].

Homozygous sickle cell disease is one of the most frequent haemoglobinopathies in Morocco. Sickle cell disease is characterized by a large clinical and biological expression variability which depends on modulating genetic and environmental factors. Clinical manifestation includes regenerative anemia whose severity may vary among individuals.

A systematic study of the release of bisphenol A by orthodontic materials and its biological effects.

Introduction: Bisphenol A (BPA) is a synthetic chemical substance used as a starting ingredient in the manufacturing process of a number or orthodontic materials. It is a well-known endocrine disruptor with low estrogenic properties. The aim of this investigation is to present a systematic review regarding the issue of bisphenol A release by orthodontic materials and its impact in orthodontics.

[Recipients adverse reactions in the Ibn Sina Hospital of Rabat: State 1999-2013].

Purpose Of Study: The declaration of the recipients adverse reactions (RAR) is one of the field haemovigilance activities. It provides an evaluation of transfusion side effects and thus prevents their appearance. The aim of this study is to analyze, over 14 years, the RAR supports reported in Rabat Ibn Sina hospital.
