Background: While invasive fusariosis and lomentosporiosis are known to be associated with fungemia, overall data on mold-related fungemia are limited, hampering early management. This study aimed to describe the epidemiology of mold-positive blood cultures.

Methods: Epidemiological and clinical data on mold-positive blood cultures from 2012 to 2022 were obtained from the RESSIF database.

Objectives: To assess the real-world efficacy and safety of recombinant factor IX albumin fusion protein (rIX-FP) in patients with hemophilia B (HB) in France.

Methods: Data on dosing frequency, weekly consumption, and bleeds before-and-after switching to rIX-FP, were collected from December 2021 to February 2024. Annualized (spontaneous) bleeding rates [A(s)BRs] were calculated only in patients on prophylaxis with a follow-up ≥ 6 months.

Djibouti is confronted with malaria resurgence, with malaria having been occurring in epidemic proportions since a decade ago. The current epidemiology of drug-resistant is not well known. Molecular markers were analyzed by targeted sequencing in 79 clinical isolates collected in Djibouti city in 2023 using the Miseq Illumina platform newly installed in the country.

Light transmission aggregometry for platelet function testing: position paper on current recommendations and French proposals for accreditation.

Light transmission aggregometry (LTA) is a method used to investigate platelet functions in platelet-rich plasma (PRP), notably when screening for platelet disorders. Various national guidelines and recommendations help in setting up the LTA test in specialized laboratories. However, due to the nature of the sample matrix and its subsequent specificities, more accurate positions are needed to achieve LTA accreditation according to the standard NF EN ISO 15 189.

Background: Teledermatology has been widely deployed over the past decade in France, becoming an indispensable tool in daily practice. Pediatric dermatology is a subspecialty of dermatology limited to a small number of specialists. In 2013, the Argenteuil Hospital developed a structured store-and-forward (SAF) service that is particularly well-suited for the field of pediatric dermatology.

[Outpatient coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary interventions before and after the COVID-19 pandemic: experience of the Versailles hospital centre].

Background: Same day discharge (SDD) diagnostic coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs) are increasingly performed, and indications extend to more complex procedures and more fragile patients. We report the evolution of SDD interventional cardiology activity in our centre since 2016, particularly before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Secondarily, we analysed the feasibility and safety of SDD PCI.

The Utility and Safety of Prophylactic Tranexamic Acid in Tonsillectomy: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

Objective: We conducted a systematic review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to evaluate the efficacy of tranexamic acid (TXA) in reducing posttonsillectomy hemorrhage (PTH).

Data Sources: We searched MEDLINE, EMBASE, and CENTRAL for RCT comparing prophylactic TXA to control in patients undergoing tonsillectomy.

Review Methods: Per Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis guidelines, the databases were searched from date of inception through October 2023.

The AXL inhibitor bemcentinib overcomes microenvironment-mediated resistance to pioglitazone in acute myeloid leukemia.

Prognosis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains poor especially in older patients who are ineligible for standard chemotherapy or have refractory disease. Here, we study the potential of Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor (PPAR)-γ agonist pioglitazone to improve the treatment of AML. We show that pioglitazone exerts an anti-proliferative and anti-clonogenic effect on AML cell lines KG-1a, MOLM-14 and OCI-AML3 and on primary cultures from AML patients.

[Preliminary evaluation of the interest of a therapeutic optimization cell on the titration of treatments for heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction and the quality of life of patients].

Introduction: A multidisciplinary therapeutic optimization unit (COT) was created in January 2023 at Versailles Hospital, aimed at therapeutic optimisation of patients with chronic heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction. The objective of the study was to assess the impact of the first year of COT activity on the sequential implementation and titration of heart failure treatments, the clinical evolution, and improvement of patients' quality of life.

Methods: This prospective study included consecutive patients treated by the COT after hospitalisation for acute heart failure, from January to December 2023.

Stability of Hemostasis Parameters in Whole Blood, Plasma, and Frozen Plasma: Literature Review and Recommendations of the SFTH (French Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis).

Preanalytical sample management is critical for a proper assessment of hemostasis parameters, and may differ depending on prescribed tests or additional tests considered to be necessary after initial results. Although there is quite vast literature on this issue, the Working Group of the French Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (SFTH) deemed it necessary to make an in-depth literature review and propose recommendations for the proper handling of samples prior to hemostasis assays. Prognostic impact of high-intensity lipid-lowering therapy under-prescription after acute myocardial infarction in women.

Aims: Women are less likely to receive lipid-lowering therapy (LLT) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). We analysed whether this under-prescription currently persists and has an impact on long-term outcomes.

Methods And Results: The FAST-MI programme consists of nationwide registries including all patients admitted for AMI ≤ 48 h from onset over a 1 month period in 2005, 2010, and 2015, with long-term follow-up.

Complication rates are not higher after outpatient compared to inpatient fast-track total hip arthroplasty: a propensity-matched prospective comparative study.

Purpose: Concerns remain with regards to safety of fast-track (FT) and especially outpatient procedures. The purpose of this study was to compare complication rates and clinical outcomes of propensity-matched patients who received FT total hip arthroplasty (THA) in outpatient versus inpatient settings. The hypothesis was that 90-day postoperative complication rates of outpatient FT THA would not be higher than after inpatient FT THA.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the impact on subsequent infections and mortality of an adequate antimicrobial therapy within 48 h after catheter removal in intensive care unit (ICU) patients with positive catheter tip culture.

Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data from 29 centers of the OUTCOMEREA network. We developed a propensity score (PS) for adequate antimicrobial treatment, based on expert opinion of 45 attending physicians.

Isatuximab plus pomalidomide and dexamethasone in patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma in real-world: The retrospective IMAGE study.

Background: IMAGE is a retrospective cohort study of patients enrolled in early access programs (EAPs) in France with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) receiving isatuximab with pomalidomide and dexamethasone (Isa-Pd).

Methods: Patients aged ≥18 years with RRMM who received ≥1 dose of Isa under the EAPs between July 29, 2019 and August 30, 2020 were included. Effectiveness endpoints included progression-free survival (PFS) and response rates.

Genotypic testing is often recommended to improve the management of patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). To help combat this major pandemic, next-generation sequencing (NGS) techniques are widely used to analyse resistance to antiretroviral drugs. In this study, we used a Vela Sentosa kit (Vela Diagnostics, Kendall, Singapore), which is usually used for the Ion Torrent personal genome machine (PGM) platform, to sequence HIV using the Illumina Miseq platform.
