Practice of pediatric aphereses - in particular when caring for low-weight children - differs from the practice of adult aphereses, since pediatric aphereses represent low numbers of procedures, which has practical implications in terms of practical training and retraining for involved healthcare personnel, as needed for habilitation and validation of ongoing competencies. A specific training is mandatory in order to ensure both the child and the staff safety during and after collection, as well as ensure high quality of the collected cell product and that its meets predefined specifications that depend on its intended use. Low and very low-weight children deserve a particular attention for a number of procedural and clinical aspects: the nature and quality of venous accesses to ensure proper operation of the cell separator, management of hemodynamic fluctuations in relation with the relative importance of the extracorporeal blood volume as compared to the total blood volume of the child, risks and clinical manifestations of citrate toxicity, minimization of stress during the procedure that may include but is not limited to pharmacological sedation.

Follicular lymphoma (FL) course is highly variable, making its clinical management challenging. In this incurable and recurring pathology, the interval between relapses tends to decrease while aggressiveness increases, sometimes resulting in the transformation to higher-grade lymphoma. These evolutions are particularly difficult to anticipate, resulting from complex clonal evolutions where multiple subclones compete and thrive due to their capacity to proliferate and resist therapies.

The IELSG38 trial was conducted to investigate the effects of subcutaneous (SC) rituximab on the complete remission (CR) rate and the benefits of SC rituximab maintenance in patients with extranodal marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) who received front-line treatment with chlorambucil plus rituximab. Study treatment was an induction phase with oral chlorambucil 6 mg/m2/day on weeks 1-6, 9-10, 13-14, 17-18, and 21-22, and intravenous rituximab 375 mg/m2 on day 1 of weeks 1-4, and 1,400 mg SC on weeks 9, 13, 17, and 21. Then, a maintenance phase followed with rituximab administered at 1,400 mg SC every two months for two years.

JCO The primary analysis of the Ro-CHOP phase III randomized controlled trial (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT01796002) established that romidepsin (Ro) plus cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone (CHOP) did not yield an increased efficacy compared with CHOP alone as first-line treatment of peripheral T-cell lymphoma. We report the planned final analysis 5 years after the last patient enrolled.

In recent years, several nasal cavity and sinus entities have been described with fusion genes. Salivary gland tumors with fusion genes will not be discussed in this article, but it should be kept in mind that accessory salivary glands are present in the nasal cavity and sinuses and can therefore lead to tumoral lesions. Entities with specific or more frequently described rearrangements in the nasal cavities and sinuses are DEK::AFF2 squamous cell carcinomas,;non-intestinal and non-salivary nasosinusal adenocarcinomas, some of which displaying ETV6 gene rearrangements; biphenotypic nasosinusal sarcomas, most of which displaying PAX3 gene rearrangements; and Ewing's adamantinoma-like sarcomas, which display the same rearrangements as conventional Ewing's sarcomas, mainly the EWSR1::FLI1 rearrangement.

Background And Purpose: We performed a cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) comparing an adaptive radiotherapy (ART) strategy, based on weekly replanning, aiming to correct the parotid gland overdose during treatment and expecting therefore to decrease xerostomia, when compared to a standard IMRT.
Materials And Methods: We conducted the ARTIX trial, a randomized, parallel-group, multicentric study comparing a systematic weekly replanning ART to a standard IMRT. The primary endpoint was the frequency of xerostomia at 12 months, measured by stimulating salivary flow with paraffin.

To reduce the potential subjectivities of FCM data interpretation, we developed a machine learning random forest algorithm (RF) allowing unsupervised analysis. This assay relies on 16 parameters obtained from our FCM screening panel, routinely used in the exploration of peripheral blood (PB) samples (mean fluorescence intensity values (MFI) of CD19, CD45, CD5, CD20, CD200, CD23, HLA-DR, CD10 in CD19-gated B cells, ratio of kappa/Lambda, and different ratios of MFI B-cells/T-cells [CD20, CD200, CD23]).

In recent years, the development of both medical imaging and new systemic agents (targeted therapy and immunotherapy) have revolutionized the field of oncology, leading to a new entity: oligometastatic disease. Adding local treatment of oligometastases to systemic treatment could lead to prolonged survival with no significant impact on quality of life.
