Background: mRNA-based cancer vaccines show promise in triggering antitumour immune responses. To combine them with existing immunotherapies, the intratumoral immune microenvironment needs to be deeply characterised. Here, we test nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs), the so-called Lipidots®, for delivering unmodified mRNA encoding Ovalbumin (OVA) antigen to elicit specific antitumour responses.

Predicting Protein Pathways Associated to Tumor Heterogeneity by Correlating Spatial Lipidomics and Proteomics: The Dry Proteomic Concept.

Mol Cell Proteomics

December 2024

Univ.Lille, Inserm, CHU Lille, U1192 - Proteomics Inflammatory Response Mass Spectrometry- PRISM, Lille, France; Department Institut Universitaire de France, Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche et de l'Innovation, Paris, France. Electronic address:

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers introduced "dry proteomics," a method that uses MALDI MSI to study the relationship between lipids and proteins in tissues, focusing on spatial localization.
  • This approach was tested on rat brain tissue and later applied to human glioblastoma, revealing unique lipid signatures that correlate with specific proteins and biological pathways.
  • Despite challenges with incomplete lipid data from glioblastoma patients, a classification model based on protein information was developed to enhance prognostic predictions and understand tumor heterogeneity.

This study aimed to identify attentional foci and coping strategies of elite fencers during competitive matches, explore the co-occurrences between both, and examine their impact on performance. Twenty-two epeeists (11 males and 11 females) from a national team took part in self-confrontation interviews during two simulated tournaments. Data were analysed using inductive and deductive content analyses.

Background: The role of senescence in disease contexts is complex, however there is considerable evidence that depletion of senescent cells improves outcomes in a variety of contexts particularly related to aging, cognition, and neurodegeneration. Much research has shown previously that inflammation can promote cellular senescence. Microglia are a central nervous system innate immune cell that undergo senescence with aging and during neurodegeneration.

Introduction: HIV replication leads to a change in lymphocyte phenotypes that impairs immune protection against opportunistic infections. We examined current HIV replication as an independent risk factor for tuberculosis (TB).

Methods: We included people living with HIV from 25 European cohorts 1983-2015.

Almost half of the world's population is exposed to the risk of transmission of the four dengue virus serotypes (DENV 1-4), by mosquitoes of the genus Aedes. A dengue vaccine is effective if it induces prolonged protective immunity against all circulating viral strains, irrespective of the age and infection history of the vaccinated subject. An effective vaccine strategy against dengue is based on the injection of live attenuated viruses in a tetravalent formulation.

Neuroinflammation can positively influence axon regeneration following injury in the central nervous system. Inflammation promotes the release of neurotrophic molecules and stimulates intrinsic proregenerative molecular machinery in neurons, but the detailed mechanisms driving this effect are not fully understood. We evaluated how microRNAs are regulated in retinal neurons in response to intraocular inflammation to identify their potential role in axon regeneration.

Université de Lille, Inserm, CHU Lille, U1192 - Protéomique Réponse Inflammatoire Spectrométrie de Masse - PRISM, 59000 Lille, France; Institut Universitaire de France (IUF), Paris, France. Electronic address:

Glioblastoma is a highly heterogeneous and infiltrative form of brain cancer associated with a poor outcome and limited therapeutic effectiveness. The extent of the surgery is related to survival. Reaching an accurate diagnosis and prognosis assessment by the time of the initial surgery is therefore paramount in the management of glioblastoma.

Human dental pulp stem cells derived extracellular matrix promotes mineralization via Hippo and Wnt pathways.

Sci Rep

March 2024

Center of Excellence for Dental Stem Cell Biology and Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, 34 Henri-Dunant Rd. Pathumwan, Bangkok, 10330, Thailand.

Extracellular matrix (ECM) is an intricate structure providing the microenvironment niche that influences stem cell differentiation. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of decellularized ECM derived from human dental pulp stem cells (dECM_DPSCs) and gingival-derived mesenchymal stem cells (dECM_GSCs) as an inductive scaffold for osteogenic differentiation of GSCs. The proteomic analysis demonstrated that common and signature matrisome proteins from dECM_DPSCs and dECM_GSCs were related to osteogenesis/osteogenic differentiation.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess the ongoing disease activity and burden among Canadian patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) despite advancements in treatment.
  • An analysis of data from 1,596 patients revealed that a significant percentage (64.8% to 75%) failed to achieve minimal disease activity (MDA) within 6 months, with noticeable regional differences.
  • The findings indicate a considerable unmet need for better therapeutic options for PsA, pointing towards the necessity for more research focused on improving patient outcomes across different regions in Canada.

Background: Young people with chronic health conditions and disabilities rely on the healthcare system to maintain their best possible health. The appropriate delivery and utilization of healthcare services are key to improve their autonomy, self-efficacy and employment outcomes. The research question of our study is directed toward investigating if poor availability and accessibility of healthcare services in general, as identified by unmet needs in healthcare, are associated with dissatisfaction with healthcare.

Documentation of plant taxa has long been subject to the temporal and spatial selectivity of professional research expeditions, especially in tropical regions. Therefore, rare and/or narrowly endemic species are sometimes known only from very few and very old herbarium specimens. However, these taxa are very important from a conservation perspective.

Background: To date, almost no research on the psychosocial implications of albinism has been conducted in France and an exploration of albinism-related experiences could be beneficial, in order to better understand this condition. The aim of this study was to examine how French people with albinism and their parents live with and adapt to this condition in all the areas of their lives.

Methods: Semi-structured phone interviews were conducted with 9 parent-child dyads, each participating separately.

The number of patients treated with charged-particle radiotherapy as well as the number of treatment centers is increasing worldwide, particularly regarding protons. However, high-linear energy transfer (LET) particles, mainly carbon ions, are of special interest for application in radiotherapy, as their special physical features result in high precision and hence lower toxicity, and at the same time in increased efficiency in cell inactivation in the target region, i.e.

Fallopian tube lesions as potential precursors of early ovarian cancer: a comprehensive proteomic analysis.

September 2023

Univ.Lille, Inserm, CHU Lille, U-1192 - Laboratoire Protéomique Réponse Inflammatoire Spectrométrie de Masse - PRISM, F-59000, Lille, France.

Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancer worldwide. High-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC) is the most common and deadliest subtype of ovarian cancer. While the origin of ovarian tumors is still debated, it has been suggested that HGSC originates from cells in the fallopian tube epithelium (FTE), specifically the epithelial cells in the region of the tubal-peritoneal junction.

In multispectral digital in-line holographic microscopy (DIHM), aberrations of the optical system affect the repeatability of the reconstruction of transmittance, phase and morphology of the objects of interest. Here we address this issue first by model fitting calibration using transparent beads inserted in the sample. This step estimates the aberrations of the optical system as a function of the lateral position in the field of view and at each wavelength.
