Rhenium represents an irreplaceable metal resource, which finds extensive applications in diverse fields, particularly in the aerospace and petrochemical industry. However, its remarkably low natural abundance and the lack of independent ore deposits pose significant challenges to its extraction and recovery processes. In this study, we present the highly efficient adsorption of perrhenate by a cationic polymeric nanotrap material, namely CPN-3VIm.

Objective: Muslim patients are an underrepresented community in end-of-life care research, with little evidence around factors that influence the quality and experience of care. The aim of this study was to explore the quality of end-of-life care in the intensive care unit (ICU) from the perspective of next-of-kin family members of Muslim patients.
Design: A qualitative multiple case study design using semistructured interviews with family members of Muslim patients.

Wild solitary bees face a host of challenges from the simplification of landscapes and biodiversity loss to invasive species and urbanization. Pollinator researchers and restoration workers thus far gave much attention to increase flower cover to reduce the impact of these anthropogenic pressures. Over 30% of bee species need nonfloral resources such as leaves and resin for their survival and reproduction.

In this paper, we test the factors across modalities that may influence comparability between medication and psychotherapy trials.
Methods: We included 92 randomised controlled trials (RCTs) of psychotherapy and medication for child and adolescent depression (mean age 4-18 years). Using meta-analyses, we compared (a) participant characteristics and (b) trial characteristics in medication and psychotherapy trials.

Extracellular matrix (ECM) and integrins are important biological macromolecules. ECM especially collagen IV (COLIV) deposition modulates the integrin-FAK signaling pathway involved in adipogenesis and is strongly associated with insulin resistance. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) mice were given swertiamarin (STM) by intragastric administration.

There are few established treatments for negative symptoms in schizophrenia, which persist in many patients after positive symptoms are reduced. Oxidative stress, inflammation, and epigenetic modifications involving histone deacetylase (HDAC) have been implicated in the pathophysiology of schizophrenia. Sulforaphane has antioxidant properties and is an HDAC inhibitor.

Groundnut fodder was utilized as a bioresource for the production of cellulases through solid state fermentation (SSF). Aspergillus unguis was initially grown on modified groundnut fodder for cellulase production and the fodder was hydrolyzed by the crude cellulase extract into fermentable hydrolyzate. The highest titer of Filter paperase (FPase), Carboxymethyl cellulase (CMCase), β-glucosidase, and protein content were found to be 11.

Redox imbalance, including excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) caused by mitochondrial dysfunction and insufficient endogenous antioxidant capacity, is the primary cause of myocardial ischemia‒reperfusion (I/R) injury. In the exploration of reducing myocardial I/R injury, it is found that protecting myocardial mitochondrial function after reperfusion not only reduces ROS bursts but also inhibits cell apoptosis triggered by the release of cytochrome c. Additionally, nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) is considered a potential therapeutic target for treating myocardial I/R injury by enhancing the cellular antioxidant capacity through the induction of endogenous antioxidant enzymes.

Achieving microecological balance is a complex environmental challenge. This is because the equilibrium of microecological systems necessitates both the eradication of harmful microorganisms and preservation of the beneficial ones. Conventional materials predominantly target the elimination of pathogenic microorganisms and often neglect the protection of advantageous microbial species.

Anomalies of the corpus callosum (CC) are amongst the most common fetal Central Nervous System (CNS) anomalies detectable on ultrasound. Underlying genetic disease plays an important part in defining prognosis. Associations with aneuploidy and submicroscopic chromosomal deletions or duplications have been well demonstrated using chromosomal microarray analysis.

The two-dimensional lamellar materials disperse platinum sites and minimize noble-metal usage for fuel cells, while mass transport resistance at the stacked layers spurs device failure with a significant performance decline in membrane electrode assembly (MEA). Herein, we implant porous and rigid sulfonated covalent organic frameworks (COF) into the graphene-based catalytic layer for the construction of steric mass-charge channels, which highly facilitates the activity of oxygen reduction reactions in both the rotating disk electrode (RDE) measurements and MEA device tests. Specifically, the normalized mass activity is remarkably boosted by 3.

Background: Anti-citrullinated peptide antibodies (ACPA)-negative (ACPA-) rheumatoid arthritis (RA) presents significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges due to the absence of specific biomarkers, underscoring the need to elucidate its distinctive cellular and metabolic profiles for more targeted interventions.
Methods: Single-cell RNA sequencing data from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and synovial tissues of patients with ACPA- and ACPA+ RA, as well as healthy controls, were analyzed. Immune cell populations were classified based on clustering and marker gene expression, with pseudotime trajectory analysis, weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), and transcription factor network inference providing further insights.

The circadian clock is an internal timekeeper system that regulates biological processes through a central circadian clock and peripheral clocks controlling various genes. Basic helix-loop-helix ARNT-like 1 (), also known as aryl hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator-like protein 1 (), is a key component of the circadian clock. The deletion of alone can abolish the circadian rhythms of the human body.

Background: Evidence for widespread comorbidity of executive dysfunctions with psychiatric disorders suggests common mechanisms underlying their pathophysiology. However, the shared genetic architectures between psychiatric disorders and executive function (EF) remain poorly understood.
Methods: Leveraging large genome-wide association study datasets of European ancestry on bipolar disorder ( = 353,899), major depressive disorder ( = 674,452), and schizophrenia ( = 130,644) from the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium and iPSYCH and a common factor of EF ( = 427,037) from UK Biobank, we systematically investigated the shared genomic architectures between psychiatric disorders and EF with a set of statistical genetic, functional genomic, and gene-level analyses.
