As one of the four most important woody oil-tree in the world, has significant economic value. Rapid and accurate acquisition of tree-crown information is essential for enhancing the effectiveness of tree management and accurately predicting fruit yield. This study is the first of its kind to explore training the ResU-Net model with UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) images containing elevation information for automatically detecting tree crowns and estimating crown width (CW) and crown projection area (CPA) to rapidly extract tree-crown information.

Background: Crocidura, the most speciose mammalian genus, occurs across much of Asia, Europe and Africa. The taxonomy of Chinese representatives has been studied primarily based on cursory morphological comparisons and their molecular phylogenetic analyses remain unexplored. In order to understand the phylogeny of this group in China, we estimated the first multilocus phylogeny and conducted species delimitation, including taxon sampling throughout their distribution range.

This study assessed the dynamics of lakes in the north Tanggula Mountains in Tibet (NT area) and predicted the spatial changes. We used object-oriented classification and a spectral-angle vector change detection method to generate ecosystem distribution data for the NT area at five-year interval between 2000 and 2015. Based on this dataset, we measured the spatial pattern of lake dynamics and related geophysical and meteorological factors.

The Tibetan gazelle is endemic to the Tibetan plateau. The species is listed as a Near Threatened (NT) species by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Animals and the Red List of China's Vertebrates. In this study, we sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome of and examined its phylogenetic position with other nine species in Artiodactyla.

Although elevational species richness patterns have been well documented, there remains much uncertainty over the causes of beta diversity patterns across elevational gradients. We conducted bird surveys and obtained high-resolution climatic data along an elevational gradient in Gyirong Valley in the central Himalayas, China, between 1,800 and 5,400 m elevation.

This paper put forward an evaluation index system which included 5 aspects such as ecological location and representation, biodiversity, species rarity, naturality, scale and partition suitability as well as 15 indicators to assess the protection values of 60 national wetland parks in Hunan Province, China. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and entropy method were used in this evaluation index system. There were 37 national wetland parks (accounting for 61.

A new gall wasp species, Dryocosmus zhuili Liu et Zhu, is herein described from the southeastern Fujian province of China. The new species induces galls on trees of Henry's chestnut, Castanea henryi, which is also a native host for the notorious Oriental chestnut gall wasp (OCGW, Dryocosmus kuriphilus Yasumatsu). D.
