Poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)-based solid polymer electrolytes are considered promising materials for realizing high-safety and high-energy-density lithium metal batteries. However, the high crystallinity of PEO at room temperature triggers low ionic conductivity and Li transference number, critically hindering practical applications in solid-state lithium metal batteries. Herein, we prepared nanosized TiO with enriched oxygen vacancies down to 13 nm as fillers by laser irradiation, which can be coated by in situ generated polyacetonitrile, ensuring good dispersibility in PEO.

CeCoMnO spinel-type catalysts for the selective catalytic reduction of NO using NH (NH-SCR) are usually prepared by alkaline co-precipitation. In this paper, a series of CeCoMnO spinel-type catalysts with different calcination temperatures were prepared by acidic oxalate co-precipitation. The physicochemical structures and NH-SCR activities of the CeCoMnO spinel-type catalysts prepared by oxalate co-precipitation and conventional ammonia co-precipitation were systematically compared.

The use of two-dimensional (2D) layered materials with a noncentrosymmetric structure dramatically increases the potential of nanoscale electromechanical systems and electronic devices. In this work, liquid-phase exfoliation of bulk bismuth titanate was employed to synthesize atomically thin 2D sheets and fabricate a high-performance piezoelectric energy harvester. The structural and morphological properties of the 2D sheets were analyzed, confirming their phase purity and layer formation.

Milk and its derivatives are basic foods in Peru, especially for children. The Junín region, in the central Andes, is one of the leading dairy basins. However, the safety of milk is affected by mining-metallurgical activities, wastewater dumping, organic residues, and inappropriate use of organophosphate fertilizers in agriculture whose contaminants reach the food chain, putting human health at risk.

Electrocatalytic CO reduction reaction (CO RR) to multi-carbon products (C ) in acidic electrolyte is one of the most advanced routes for tackling our current climate and energy crisis. However, the competing hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and the poor selectivity towards the valuable C products are the major obstacles for the upscaling of these technologies. High local potassium ions (K ) concentration at the cathode's surface can inhibit proton-diffusion and accelerate the desirable carbon-carbon (C-C) coupling process.

The nuclear industry is rapidly developing and the effective management of nuclear waste and monitoring the nuclear fuel cycle are crucial. The presence of various radionuclides such as uranium (U), europium (Eu), technetium (Tc), iodine (I), thorium (Th), cesium (Cs), and strontium (Sr) in the environment is a major concern, and the development of materials with high adsorption capacity and selectivity is essential for their effective removal. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have recently emerged as promising materials for removing radioactive elements from water resources due to their unique properties such as tunable pore size, high surface area, and chemical structure.

The process of smelting and purifying the catalyst precursor salt from minerals is extremely complex, which directly leads to high catalyst costs and serious secondary pollution. In order to achieve energy saving and emission reduction in the catalyst preparation process, in-situ synthesis of catalyst materials from natural minerals is a new research direction. In this study, we firstly explored the optimal X value of MnFeO for the NH selective catalytic reduction of NO (NH-SCR) reaction, i.

Currently, magnesium alloys are widely utilized in diverse sectors due to their unique properties. However, the AZ61Mg alloy, a commonly used magnesium alloy, is known to have poor wear resistance, which limits its applications. To address this issue, researchers have investigated various surface treatment techniques, including the Abbott Firestone method, to improve the wear resistance of this alloy.

The occurrence, mobilization, and origin of Potentially Toxic Eelements (PTEs) in the environment is always a difficult research question that has not been fully addressed to date; solving this problem would be a major achievement for environmental science and pollution research, a significant scientific breakthrough, and an important contribution to environmental analysis and monitoring. The lack of a holistic methodology that uses chemical analysis to determine the origin of each PTE in the environment is the main motivation for this project. Therefore, the hypothesis tested here is to develop a scientific approach applied to each PTE to determine whether its origin is geogenic (i.

Sluggish redox kinetics and shuttle effect of polysulfides hinder the extensive application of the lithium-sulfur batteries (LSBs). Herein a functional heterostructure of boron nitride (BN) and MXene with an alternately layered structure (BN@MXene) is designed as separator interlayer. High efficiency Li transmission, uniform lithium deposition, strong adsorption, and efficient catalytic conversion activities of lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) realized by this heterostructure are confirmed by experiments and theoretical calculations.

The human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) hormone is a biomarker that can predict tumors and early pregnancy; however, it is challenging to develop sensitive qualitative-quantitative procedures that are also effective, inventive, and unique. In this study, we used a novel easy reaction of an organic nano-linker with Zn(NO)·6HO and HAuCl·3HO to produce a gold-zinc-salen metal-organic framework composite known as Au-Zn-Sln-MOF. A wide variety of micro-analytical instruments and spectroscopic techniques were used in order to characterize the newly synthesized Au-Zn-Sln-MOF composite.

The Ni-rich layered cathode material LiNiCoMnO (NCM811) with high specific capacity and acceptable rate performance is one of the key cathode materials for high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries. Coprecipitation, the widely utilized method in the precursor synthesis of NCM811 materials, however, suffers long synthetic processes and challenges in uniform element distribution. The spray pyrolysis method is able to prepare oxide precursors in seconds where all transition-metal elements are well distributed, but the difficulty of lithium distribution will also arise when the lithium salts are added in the subsequent sintering process.
