Atractylenolide I (ATL-I) can interfere with Colorectal cancer (CRC) cell proliferation by changing apoptosis, glucose metabolism and other behaviors, making it an effective drug for inhibiting CRC tumor growth. In this paper, we investigated the interactions between ATL-I and Keratin 7 (KRT7), a CRC-specific marker, to determine the potential pathways by which ATL-I inhibits CRC development. The KRT7 expression level in CRC was predicted online using the GEPIA website and then validated.

Efferocytosis refers to the process of phagocytes engulfing and clearing the cells after programmed cell death. In recent years, an increasing number of studies have shown that the mechanisms of efferocytosis are closely related to drug-induced liver injury, hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury, viral hepatitis, cholestatic liver diseases, metabolic-associated fatty liver disease, alcoholic liver disease, and other liver disorders. This review summarized the research progress on the role of efferocytosis in liver diseases, with the hope of providing new targets for the prevention and treatment of liver diseases.

Background: A loss-of-functional mutation (W1183R) in human complement factor H (CFH) is associated with complement-associated hemolytic uremic syndrome; mice carrying a similar mutation (W1206R) in CFH also develop thrombotic microangiopathy but its plasma von Willebrand factor (VWF) multimer sizes were dramatically reduced. Aging is a critical factor in the onset and progression of neurodegenerative diseases and cognitive decline, with aging-related neuroinflammation and cellular senescence being major contributors. In the aging brain, the cerebral vascular endothelium overexpresses vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM1), activating microglia and leading to neuroinflammation and cognitive impairment. Quercetin, a natural neuroprotective agent widely used for treating neurodegenerative diseases, their therapeutic efficacy, however, is limited by its poor water solubility and inability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier (BBB).

Gold nanorods (GNRs) mediated photothermal therapy (PTT) represents a promising technique for cancer treatment, utilizing GNRs in conjunction with near-infrared (NIR) laser irradiation to convert energy into heat. In the present study, we employed PTT to induce apoptosis in pancreatic cancer cells and investigated its underlying mechanisms through quantitative proteomics analysis. Initially, we established that temperatures ranging from 47 to 51°C significantly enhance cellular apoptosis without inducing necrosis.
