In this paper, Fe-3%Si ultra-thin ribbons prepared by the planar flow casting (PFC) technique were subjected to temper rolling and annealing treatments. The microstructure and texture evolution during this process were examined through experimental measurements coupled with crystal plasticity finite element (CPFE) simulation to assess the feasibility of preparing ultra-thin non-oriented silicon steel using PFC ribbons. The results indicate that the PFC ribbons exhibit a significant columnar crystal structure, and {001}-oriented grains comprise over 30%.

A novel non-magnetic Fe-21Cr-15Ni-5Mn-2Mo austenitic stainless steel with high strength and plasticity has been developed. The microstructure and liquid helium temperature (4.2 K) tensile properties of the top and bottom samples of large-size forged flat steel after solution treatment at 1090 °C were investigated.

With the development of municipal solid waste incineration technologies, the disposal of fly ash has become a difficult problem that many countries need to solve. High-temperature melting is a promising disposal technology. Based on this, a new process for collaborative treatment of fly ash in metallurgical blast furnaces had been proposed in this study.

The synergistic effects of boron (B) and rare earth (RE) elements on the microstructure and stress rupture properties were investigated in a Ni-based superalloy. The stress rupture lifetime at 650 °C/873 MPa significantly increased with the addition of B as a single element. Furthermore, the stress rupture lifetime reached its peak (303 h), with a certain amount of B and RE added together in test alloys.

In order to examine the mechanical properties and rotational bending fatigue performance of 40CrNi2MoE steel subsequent to tempering at varying temperatures, the steel specimen was subjected to tempering within the range of 400~460 °C. SEM, EBSD, and TEM were used to analyze the microstructure as well as precipitates. The strain hardening law was studied using the modified Crussard-Jaoult method.

In this study, the evolutions of Cube and {115}<161> orientations of a cold-rolled ultra-thin non-oriented silicon steel were investigated using a combination of experimental investigation and the crystal plasticity finite element method (CPFEM). The results show that Cube orientations remain relatively stable when their initial deviation angles from the ideal Cube orientation are less than 12°, even after a 60% cold rolling reduction. However, larger deviations occur due to higher strain near grain boundaries.

The flame of converter mouth can well reflect the change of temperature and composition of molten steel in the furnace. The flame characteristics of converter mouth collected by device can well predict the smelting process of converter. Based on the flame spectrum data set of converter mouth, this paper uses the BEADS algorithm and rough set attribute reduction algorithm optimized by genetic algorithm to extract the features of 2048-dimensional wavelength data.

In this study, low-iron Zn-Fe alloy coatings and pure Zn coatings, with or without trivalent chromium passivation treatment, were electrodeposited onto a sintered NdFeB magnet from a weak acid chloride bath. The surface morphology and structure of the coatings were then examined using the X-ray diffraction, a scanning electron microscope and 3D white-light interfering surface analysis. Meanwhile, the electrodeposition behavior and anti-corrosive properties of the coatings were investigated using cyclic voltammetry, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and natural salt spray tests.
