Background And Objectives: Obesity is the accumulation of adipose tissue caused by excess energy in the body, accompanied by long-term chronic low-grade inflammation of adipose tissue. More than 50% of interstitial cells in adipose tissue are macrophages, which produce cytokines closely related to insulin resistance. Macrophage biology is driven by two polarization phenotypes, M1 (proinflammatory) and M2 (anti-inflammatory).

Neuropathic pain is a somatosensory nervous system dysfunction that remains a threatening health problem globally. Recent studies have highlighted the involvement of C-C motif chemokine receptor 1 (CCR1) in neuropathic pain. Herein, the current study set out to explore the modulatory role of CCR1 in spinal nerve ligation (SNL)-induced neuropathic pain and its underlying molecular mechanism.

The mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) is an important protein kinase that senses changes in extracellular and intracellular energy levels and plays a key role in regulating energy metabolism. Brown adipose tissue, which can be converted to white adipose tissue, contains a large number of mitochondria and regulates energy expenditure through thermogenesis. Because obesity is a process of fat accumulation due to chronic excessive energy intake, we attempted to determine whether the mTOR signaling pathway can affect the mitochondrial quality control of brown adipocytes through sensing energy status, thereby regulating brown/white adipocyte transformation.

Epstein-Barr virus-associated gastric carcinoma (EBVaGC) is characterized by the clonal growth of EBV-infected stomach epithelial cells. It has been reported that N-methyladenosine (mA) methylation can regulate the splicing, expression, decay and translation of mRNAs. Wilms' tumor 1-associating protein (WTAP) is an mA "writer" with methyltransferase activity.

Background: Lipoma arborescens is characterized by the villous proliferation of the synovium and diffuse hyperplasia of fatty tissue in the subsynovial layer, almost always with a periarticular lesion. According to past articles, fewer cases have depicted the imaging features of lipoma arborescens.
Purpose: To evaluate the computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features of lipoma arborescens.

Objective: This study aimed to construct a tightly binding antibiotic sustained release system on the polyetheretherketone (PEEK) surface and investigate the cellular activity and antibacterial properties of the new oral implant materials.
Methods: Low-temperature argon plasma under certain parameters was used to prepare P-PEEK with nano-topology, and chemical deposition technology was adopted to form a polydopamine (PDA) coating on the PEEK surface to build a biological binding platform, PDA/P-PEEK. Subsequently, vancomycin gelatin nanoparticles (Van-GNPs) were prepared by two-step desolvation method.

Background: Mastoscopic surgery is proven to have lower incidence of postoperative complications and better postoperative recovery than traditional breast cancer surgery. This study aimed to examine the feasibility of mastoscopic modified radical mastectomy (MRM) with skin nipple-areola preservation under air cavity-free suspension hook and stage I silicone prosthesis implantation (SMALND) compared with routine MRM.
Methods: This was a retrospective study of patients who underwent MRM for breast cancer at the Shengjing Hospital Affiliated to China Medical University between January 1, 2019, and June 30, 2019.

Objective: To investigate the function of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) pathway in Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) and to explore the relationship between EBV and AHR expression.
Methods: The expression of AHR in EBVaGC and EBV negative GC (EBVnGC) tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC). Real-time qPCR (RT-qPCR) and Western blot analysis were used to examine the expression of AHR, cytochrome P450 1A1 (CYP1A1), and cytochrome P450 1B1 (CYP1B1) in gastric cancer cells.

Liver aging impairs the ability of hepatocyte regeneration. Recent studies have found that oxytocin (OT) plays an important role in promoting tissue repair and maintaining differentiation and regeneration of stem cells. Here, we reported that OT receptors, which are specifically located in hepatocytes, decrease with aging in human and mice.

Increasing evidence shows that Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection is closely related to various lymphoid and epithelioid malignancies. However, the underlying mechanisms are unclear. GCNT3 (core 2β-1,6-acetylglucosaminyltransferase) is a new type of core mucin synthase, and its expression in EBV-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) is lower than that in EBV-negative gastric cancer (EBVnGC).

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated gastric carcinoma (GC) comprises approximately 9% of all cases of GC. EBV-associated GC (EBVaGC) has characteristic clinicopathological features for a favorable prognosis. Microtubule-associated protein 9 (MAP9) is a cell cycle-associated gene required for bipolar spindle assembly, mitosis progression, and cytokinesis.

As a first-line drug widely used in the treatment of leukemia, 6-MP has obvious effects on leukemia. However, 6-MP disadvantages such as poor solubility in water, easy binding with serum proteins, short circulation time, and large toxic and side effects greatly limit the application of 6-MP. For this reason, various 6-MP nano drug-loading systems have been designed to increase the water solubility of 6-MP, extend the circulation time, and increase the bioavailability of 6-MP to a certain extent, reducing its toxic and side effects.

Background: To evaluate the value of shear wave elastic imaging (SWE) in the classification of esophageal varices (EV) and detection of rupture hemorrhage.
Methods: A total of 120 patients with clinically diagnosed cirrhosis were selected from October 2017 to October 2018 and underwent ultrasonography, endoscopy, and laboratory examinations. Several factors, including gender, age, body mass index (BMI), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), AST to platelet count ratio index (APRI), portal vein diameter, platelet count, spleen thickness, liver stiffness (LS), and spleen stiffness (SS), were evaluated for their diagnostic value for EV classification and detection of rupture hemorrhage.

The present study aimed to investigate the anatomical microstructure, features and signals of the fetal thymus by 3.0T FS-T2 weighted turbo spin echo sequences, which could provide imaging evidence for the evaluation of early-stage development of fetal thymus. In addition, the T2-weighted three-dimensional (3D) sequences and the 3D processing may contribute to the establishment of reference ranges for the fetal thymus.

Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) has been a devastating actuality in clinic and the molecular mechanisms underlying this disease remain unclear. The epigenetic alterations located in the promoter region of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) have been demonstrated as one of the most prevalent non-coding genomic modifications in multiple cancers. However, alteration of hTERT promoter methylation in SCLC and the subsequently induced change in tumor cell behavior remains unclear.
