Background: Lynch syndrome (LS) is an autosomal dominant inherited disorder caused by mutations in mismatch repair genes. Genetic counseling is crucial for the prevention and treatment of LS, as individuals with these mutations have an increased lifetime risk of developing multiple cancers. MutS Homolog 2 () is a protein-coding gene that plays a key role in LS.

In the era of molecular targeted drugs, elderly patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) are still very difficult to treat, especially those older than 70 years. The decline in immune function leads to serious infection and disease recurrence. The microtransplant treatment regimen (MST) chemotherapy combined with allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell infusion is a new cell therapy regimen.

Heart failure (HF) combined with persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) often coexist and may promote the pathological conditions of cardiac dysfunction, leading to poor prognosis. Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) combined with atrioventricular junction ablation (AVJA) is a highly effective treatment for HF patients with underlying AF who either have failed or are not suitable for catheter ablation. The CRT-AVJA combination therapy can improve clinical outcomes in HF patients.

Background: The optimum systolic blood pressure after endovascular thrombectomy for acute ischaemic stroke is uncertain. We aimed to compare the safety and efficacy of blood pressure lowering treatment according to more intensive versus less intensive treatment targets in patients with elevated blood pressure after reperfusion with endovascular treatment.
Methods: We conducted an open-label, blinded-endpoint, randomised controlled trial at 44 tertiary-level hospitals in China.

Background: The effects and risks of endovascular thrombectomy 6 to 24 hours after stroke onset due to basilar-artery occlusion have not been extensively studied.
Methods: In a trial conducted over a 5-year period in China, we randomly assigned, in a 1:1 ratio, patients with basilar-artery stroke who presented between 6 to 24 hours after symptom onset to receive either medical therapy plus thrombectomy or medical therapy only (control). The original primary outcome, a score of 0 to 4 on the modified Rankin scale (range, 0 to 6, with a score of 0 indicating no disability, 4 moderately severe disability, and 6 death) at 90 days, was changed to a good functional status (a modified Rankin scale score of 0 to 3, with a score of 3 indicating moderate disability).

Background: This study compared the survival outcomes of different surgical approaches to determine the optimal approach for gastric cardia adenocarcinoma (GCA) and aimed to standardize the surgical treatment guidelines for GCA.
Methods: A total of 7103 patients with GCA were enrolled from our previously established gastric cardia and esophageal carcinoma databases. In our database, when the epicenter of the tumor was at or within 2 cm distally from the esophagogastric junction, the adenocarcinoma was considered to originate from the cardia and was considered a Siewert type 2 cancer.

Background: A growing body of experimental evidence suggests that hemin released from heme is a potent oxidant and accumulates in intracranial hematomas. Hemopexin (Hpx) decreases hemin accumulation and catabolism by nerve cells. In previous study, we observed that Hpx gene knockout aggravated striatal injury and worsened behavioral deficits of mice subjected to intracerebral hemorrhage.

Background: In acute ischemic stroke, there is uncertainty regarding the benefit and risk of administering intravenous alteplase before endovascular thrombectomy.
Methods: We conducted a trial at 41 academic tertiary care centers in China to evaluate endovascular thrombectomy with or without intravenous alteplase in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Patients with acute ischemic stroke from large-vessel occlusion in the anterior circulation were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to undergo endovascular thrombectomy alone (thrombectomy-alone group) or endovascular thrombectomy preceded by intravenous alteplase, at a dose of 0.

To remedy the lack of human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-matched donors and address the problems bedeviling traditional allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation which induces the resultant graft-versus-host disease, we designed a scheme called HLA-mismatched hematopoietic stem cell microtransplantation (MST) for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), where encouraging results were achieved. In providing answers to such questions as how to select the donors of MST and which factors were involved in the outcome of MST. One hundred thirty-one AML patients from four centers with lower or standard risk of prognosis after complete remission were given three courses of MST: high dose of cytarabine plus infusion of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor mobilized peripheral blood stem cells from HLA-mismatched donors.
