Objective: To investigate the effects of dapagliflozin, in addition to standard therapy, on heart rate variability (HRV), soluble growth stimulation expressed gene 2 protein (sST2), N-terminal pro B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), and echocardiographic parameters in patients with early-onset post-myocardial infarction heart failure (HF).
Methods: A total of 98 patients with early-onset post-myocardial infarction HF were enrolled and randomly divided into a control group ( = 48, receiving standard therapy) and an observation group ( = 50, receiving standard therapy plus dapagliflozin 10 mg daily). HRV, cardiac function, and echocardiographic parameters were measured at baseline and after 24 weeks of treatment.

Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a genetic disorder marked by numerous cysts in the kidneys, progressively impairing renal function. It is classified into autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) and autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD), with ADPKD being more common. Current treatments mainly focus on symptom relief and slowing disease progression, without offering a cure.

Background: Cellular senescence is an important process related to the pathogenic mechanism of different disorders, especially bone loss. During senescence, bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) lose their self-renewal and functional differentiation abilities. Therefore, finding signals opposing the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs within bone marrow microenvironment is the important for elucidating these above-mentioned mechanisms.

This study aims to analyse the pathological features of skeletal muscle injury repair by using rats to model responses to different exercise intensities. Eighty-four rats were randomly divided into five groups for treadmill exercise. The short-term control, low-intensity, medium-intensity and high-intensity groups underwent gastrocnemius muscle sampling after 6, 8 and 12 weeks of exercise.

Background: Basilar invagination (BI) is a common disease in the craniocervical junction (CVJ) area. Posterior fossa decompression with/without fixation is a controversial surgical strategy for BI type B. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of simple posterior fossa decompression in treating BI type B.

Background: Tendinopathy is the leading sports-related injury and will cause severe weakness and tenderness. Effective therapy for tendinopathy remains limited, and extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs) have demonstrated great potential in tendinopathy treatment; however, the influence of aging status on EV treatment has not been previously described.
Results: In this study, it was found that ADMSCs derived from old mice (ADMSC) demonstrated remarkable cellular senescence and impaired NAD+ metabolism compared with ADMSCs derived from young mice (ADMSC).

Objective: With the innovation and development of cervical spine surgical procedures, there is currently a lack of new and reliable data on cervical anatomical landmarks. The purpose of this study is to measure the CT data of the cervical vertebrae of healthy volunteers, so as to make up for the missing part of the measured value of cervical vertebra bone markers, and provide data support for the safety and accuracy of anterior controllable antedisplacement and fusion (ACAF) surgery.
Methods: From January 2019 to January 2020, the cervical computed tomography (CT) scan image data of volunteers in Changhai Hospital and Zhabei Hospital were randomly selected.

Background: The pharmaceutical services based on therapeutic care pathway for kidney transplantation from infants and young children (age <3 years, weight <15 kg) to pediatric recipients can detect and resolve medication-related problems. In this paper, we report our experience on pharmaceutical services based on therapeutic care pathway to evaluate the therapeutic effects and assess the feasibility of perioperative treatment protocols.
Methods: We performed a retrospective study of 12 recipients who received their graft from infants and young children, between September 2011 and December 2013 at our institution.

Hair follicles harbor a rich autologous stem cell pool and human hair follicle-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hHF-MSCs) have multi-lineage differentiation potential. Many sources of MSCs include hHF-MSCs have been attractive candidates for cell therapy, regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. The present study is to explore the effect of intravenous transplantation of hHF-MSCs on bone mass in osteoporotic mice and its mechanism, and provides prospects for clinical applications for the treatment of osteoporosis with hHF-MSCs.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide, with most mortalities being caused by metastases. However, the underlying molecular mechanism of CRC metastases remains largely unknown. Emerging evidence has shown the role of the tripartite motif family, especially tripartite motif protein 6 (TRIM6), in carcinogenesis.

Docetaxel is a widely prescribed chemotherapy drug in oncology and post expiry of its patent, the drug has been marketed as a generic by multiple manufacturers. It is also classified as a narrow therapeutic window drug. Through enhanced permeability and retention effect, polymeric micelles can passively target agents to tumor tissue, thereby decreasing toxicity of the drug in normal tissue.

Background: Osteosarcoma (OS) is an aggressive bone cancer that most commonly affects adolescents and children. Emerging studies have shown that long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) performs essential roles in the occurrence and development of many tumors. Prostate androgen-regulated transcript 1 (PART 1) has been reported as a tumor oncogene; despite this, the mechanisms underlying its involvement in OS are unclear.

Emerging evidence indicates that osteoclasts from osteosarcoma patients have higher tartrate resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) activity. Exosomes are important mediators of the cell-to-cell communication. However, whether osteosarcoma cell-derived exosomes mediate the osteoclastogenesis of bone marrow-derived monocytes (BMDMs) and its mechanisms are largely unknown.
