Background: Complicated intra-abdominal infections (cIAIs), often caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria such as carbapenem-resistant (CRAB) and carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) are a critical challenge in ICUs. Owing to their high mortality and treatment failure rates, there is an urgent need for effective therapies. This trial will compare eravacycline to tigecycline for treating cIAIs in patients in the ICU, aiming to provide a superior treatment option.

Objective: The study aims to evaluate personality characteristics, self-efficacy, and medication adherence in Chinese patients with hypertension, while also investigating how self-efficacy mediates the relationship between personality traits and medication adherence.

Methods: This investigation included 787 Chinese patients diagnosed with hypertension, as reported in the "2021 China Family Health Index Survey Report." The study employed several assessment tools such as a General Information Questionnaire, the Brief Big Five Inventory (BFI-10), the New General Self-Efficacy Scale (NGSES), and the Medication Adherence Rating Scale (MARS).

Aim: Dapagliflozin (Dapa) is a novel hypoglycaemic agent with multiple cardiovascular protective effects, and it is widely used in treatment of heart failure patients, but whether it can improve obese phenotype of heart failure and its mechanism is still unclear. Ferroptosis is an iron dependent form of cell death and has been proved to be an important role in heart failure. The aim of this study is to determine whether Dapa improves obesity-related heart failure by regulating ferroptosis in high-fat diet rats.

Systemic inflammatory response syndrome and respiratory distress syndrome can be induced by lung injury caused by intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (II/R). There is no effective medical treatment for II/R-induced lung injury. Studies have shown that asiaticoside (AS) protects against lung injury and ischemia/reperfusion injury in several organs.

Depression is highly prevalent in haemodialysis patients, and diet might play an important role. Therefore, we conducted this cross-sectional study to determine the association between dietary fatty acids (FA) consumption and the prevalence of depression in maintenance haemodialysis (MHD) patients. Dietary intake was assessed using a validated FFQ between December 2021 and January 2022.

Introduction: Patients undergoing hemodialysis (HD) are highly vulnerable during the COVID-19 pandemic. We aimed to investigate the risk factors associated with the severity of COVID-19 and death after the complete liberalization of epidemic control in China.

Methods: We followed the outcomes of the HD patients of Central Hospital of Dalian University of Technology, from December 6, 2022, to January 8, 2023.

Background: The stromal cell derived factor 2 (SDF2) relates closely to the occurrence and development of several kind of cancers. There are few studies to investigate the clinicopathological and prognostic significance of SDF2 in gastric cancer (GC) patients.

Methods: We detected SDF2 expression in GC and normal gastric tissues using bioinformatics, western blot and immunohistochemistry.

Background: The research on the associations between tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP1) expression and the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of patients with gastric cancer (GC) have resulted in contradictory findings. Exploring the associations between TIMP1 and clinicopathological parameters and the prognosis of GC patients is essential.

Methods: We searched the literature in the databases according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a major threat to public health worldwide. It is a promising way to improve appropriate prescription by the review and stewardship of antimicrobials, and Post-Prescription Review (PPR) is currently the main tool used in hospitals. Existing methods of PPR typically focus on the dichotomy of antimicrobial prescription based on binary classification which, however, is usually a multi-label classification problem.

Damage of intestinal barrier function (BF) after ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury can induce serious complications and high mortality. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are involved in intestinal mucosal BF and epithelial proliferation after I/R injury have been reported. We aimed to investigate the role and regulatory mechanism of miR-142-3p (miR-142) in intestinal epithelial proliferation and BF after I/R injury.
