Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Tianjin First Central Hospital, School of Medicine, Nankai University, Tianjin 300192, P.R China.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common malignant tumor worldwide with high morbidity and high mortality rates. Previous studies have demonstrated that cytoskeleton regulator RNA (CYTOR) plays critical roles in the tumorigenesis of various types of cancer. The present study aimed to investigate the clinical significance, biological function and molecular mechanism of CYTOR in the progression of HCC.

Background: Percutaneous mitral valve (MV) clipping for mitral regurgitation (MR) revolutionized MV repair; however, valve anatomies and pathologies vary. Often multiple clips are required, and predicting this pre-procedurally would be useful. We evaluated pre-procedural predictors for multiple clips.

Aromatic l-amino acid decarboxylase (AADC) is an essential dopamine-synthesizing enzyme. In children with AADC deficiency, the gene delivery of AADC into the putamen, which functionally interacts with cortical regions, was found to improve motor function and ameliorate dystonia. However, how the restoration of dopamine in the putamen in association with cortico-putaminal networks leads to therapeutic effects remains unclear.

Background: Dotinurad is a selective urate reabsorption inhibitor (SURI), which selectively inhibits URAT1 to lower serum uric acid levels in patients with hyperuricemia. Herein, the effects of dotinurad were compared among patient groups with different stages of renal dysfunction.

Methods: Patient data from four clinical trials were pooled and divided into four groups according to the stage of renal dysfunction to compare the effects of dotinurad at different stages.

Effect of Biomodulina-T® and VA-MENGOC-BC® on lymphocyte subpopulations in older adults.

Exp Gerontol

October 2021

Institute of Hematology and Immunology, Immunochemistry-Immunology Department, 19th St, between 8th and 10th St, Vedado, 10400 Plaza de la Revolución, Havana, Cuba. Electronic address:

Introduction: The elderly population suffers from the natural process called immunosenescence, which may be related to the high mortality rates it has against the SARS-CoV2 virus, which is why therapies that improve the immune status are required. The combined treatment of the VA-MENGOC-BC® (V-BC) vaccine and the Biomodulina T® (BT) drug could achieve this purpose. This treatment could immunomodulate both the innate and adaptive branches of the immune system simultaneously.

The optimal management of patients with asymptomatic carotid stenosis (ACS) is the subject of extensive debate. According to the 2017 European Society for Vascular Surgery Guidelines, carotid endarterectomy should (Class IIa; Level of Evidence: B) or carotid artery stenting may be considered (Class IIb; Level of Evidence: B) in the presence of one or more clinical/imaging characteristics that may be associated with an increased risk of late ipsilateral stroke (e.g.

Our previous randomized controlled trial comparing the total dose of weekly versus biweekly continuous erythropoietin receptor activator (CERA) therapy to maintain optimal hemoglobin (Hb) levels showed no significant differences between the two therapies. This post-hoc analysis assessed whether the total dose of weekly versus biweekly CERA therapy to maintain Hb levels among HD patients differed among groups with or without iron supplementation. Of 107 patients, 40 received intravenous iron supplementation due to iron deficiency (iron group) and 67 did not (non-iron group).

Objective: The aim was to evaluate the relationship between asymptomatic carotid stenosis (ACS) of any severity and cognitive impairment and to determine whether there is evidence supporting an aetiological role for ACS in the pathophysiology of cognitive impairment.

Data Sources: PubMed/Medline, Embase, Scopus, and the Cochrane library.

Review Methods: This was a systematic review (35 cross sectional or longitudinal studies) RESULTS: Study heterogeneity confounded data interpretation, largely because of no standardisation regarding cognitive testing.
