Anal Chem

January 2025

Department of Laboratory Medicine, School of Medicine, Yangtze University, Jingzhou 434023, P.R. China.

Acylaminoacyl-peptide hydrolase (APEH), a serine peptidase that belongs to the prolyl oligopeptidase (POP) family, catalyzes removal of N-terminal acetylated amino acid residues from peptides. As a key regulator of protein N-terminal acetylation, APEH was involved in many important physiological processes while its aberrant expression was correlated with progression of various diseases such as inflammation, diabetics, Alzheimer's disease (AD), and cancers. However, while emerging attention has been attracted in APEH-related disease diagnosis and drug discovery, the mechanisms behind APEH and related disease progression are still unclear; thus, further investigating the physiological role and function of APEH is of great importance.

Suppressing Jahn-Teller distortion of MnO via B-Ni dual single-atoms integration for methane catalytic combustion.

Nat Commun

January 2025

School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Key Laboratory for Green Chemical Technology of Ministry of Education, Tianjin University, Tianjin, 300072, China.

Precisely managing electron transfer pathways throughout the catalytic reaction is paramount for bolstering both the efficacy and endurance of catalysts, offering a pivotal solution to addressing concerns surrounding host structure destabilization and cycling life degradation. This paper describes the integration of B-Ni dual single-atoms within MnO channels to serve as an electronic reservoir to direct the electron transfer route during methane catalytic combustion. Comprehensive analysis discovers that B atoms weaken the interaction between O and Mn atoms by forming bonds with lattice oxygen atoms.

In this study, we developed an innovative CuSe/PDA/AIPH nanoparticle platform that combines photothermal therapy and chemotherapy for effective tumor treatment. The CuSe nanoparticles, known for their strong near-infrared (NIR) absorption, were encapsulated within a polydopamine (PDA) and 2,2'-azobis[2-(2-imidazolin-2-yl)propane] dihydrochloride (AIPH) matrix. Upon NIR irradiation, the platform triggers localized heating and subsequent thermal decomposition of AIPH, releasing ROS to induce significant oxidative damage in tumor cells.
