A Community Guide Systematic Review: Digital HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Interventions.

Introduction: HIV preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is highly effective when taken as prescribed. Digital health adherence interventions have been identified as effective for improving antiretroviral therapy adherence among people with HIV, but limited evidence exists for PrEP adherence interventions among people without HIV. The purpose of this Community Guide systematic review was to present the characteristics and effectiveness of digital PrEP adherence interventions.

During December 2020 through May 2023, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Immunization Services Division supported and executed the largest vaccine distribution effort in U.S. history, delivering nearly one billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine to vaccine providers in all 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam, Federated States of Micronesia, American Samoa, Marshall Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, and Palau.

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) testing services are known as the primary step in preventing the spread of HIV. However, access to these crucial services varies across regions within continents due to disparities in healthcare infrastructure, resources, and awareness. Approximately one in every five people living with HIV (PLWH) encounters obstacles in accessing HIV testing, notably in Eastern and Southern Africa, where geographical, resource, awareness, and infrastructure limitations prevail.

Data-Exchange Between Electronic Medical Record and Viral-Load Laboratory Database Towards Improving HIV Care in Ethiopia.

Electronic viral load (VL) Test Ordering and Result Reporting System (ETORRS) was introduced to create data exchange between the existing VL database and the electronic medical record (EMR) system, with the aim of reducing laboratory test results turnaround time (TAT), improving data quality, and supporting timely clinical response for patients with high VL. This use case is an illustrative example of initiating and adopting the principles of health information exchange for a priority health program.

Use of Electronic Quality Monitoring Tool and Central Dashboard to Improve Clinical and Programmatic Decisions.

Methods: Effectiveness of a single dose of JYNNEOS vaccine administered subcutaneously ≤ 14 days as PEP for preventing mpox disease was assessed among individuals exposed to case-patients from May 22, 2022-August 24, 2022.

Lab on a chip for detecting Clara cell protein 16 (CC16) for potential screening of the workers exposed to respirable silica aerosol.

Early detection of pulmonary responses to silica aerosol exposure, such as lung inflammation as well as early identification of silicosis initiation, is of great importance in disease prevention of workers. In this study, to early screen the health condition of the workers who are exposed to respirable silica dusts, an immunoassay lab on a chip (LOC) was designed, developed and fully characterized for analyzing Clara cell protein 16 (CC16) in serum which has been considered as one of the potential biomarkers of lung inflammation or lung damage due to the respirable silica dusts. Sandwich immunoassay of CC16 was performed on the LOC developed with a custom-designed portable analyzer using artificial serums spiked with CC16 protein first and then human serums obtained from the coal mine workers exposed to the respirable silica-containing dusts.

Multi-month dispensing (MMD) has been widely adopted by national HIV programs as a key strategy for improving the quality of HIV care and treatment services while meeting the unique needs of diverse client populations. We assessed the clinical outcomes of clients receiving MMD in Kenya by conducting a retrospective cohort study using routine programmatic data in 32 government health facilities in Kenya. The cognitive and performance benefits of group work in undergraduate courses depend on understanding how to structure groups to promote communication and comfort while also promoting diversity and reducing conflict. The current study utilized social network analysis combined with self-reported survey data from 555 students in 155 groups to understand how students identified group members whom they wished to work with.
