Lockdown imposed in the early phase of the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak represented a specific setting where activity was restricted but still possible. The aim was to investigate the cross-sectional associations between physical activity (PA) and SARS-CoV-2 infection in a French population-based cohort. Participants completed a PA questionnaire.

Background: Research on the effect of pesticide exposure on health has been largely focused on occupational settings. Few reviews have synthesized the associations between dietary pesticide exposure and health outcomes in non-occupationally exposed adults.
Objective: We aim to summarize the evidence regarding dietary pesticide exposure and non-communicable diseases (NCD) in adults, using a systematic review of prospective studies.

Context: We recently reported that the presence of glutamic acid decarboxylase antibodies (GADA) was not associated with large-for-gestational-age infants in women with hyperglycemia in pregnancy (HIP).
Objective: We explored the association between the presence of GADA and other HIP-related adverse pregnancy outcomes.
Methods: This observational prospective study, conducted at a university hospital in a suburb of Paris, France, included 1182 consecutive women with HIP measured for GADA at HIP care initiation between 2012 and 2017.

Animal production is responsible for 56-58% of the GHG emissions and limiting meat consumption would strongly contribute to reducing human health risks in Western countries. This study aimed to investigate the nature of protein intake as a discriminating factor for diets' sustainability. Using data from 29,210 French adults involved in the NutriNet-Santé cohort, we identified clusters according to 23 protein sources.

Introduction: Linking healthcare data sets can create valuable resources for research, particularly when investigating rare exposures or outcomes. However, across Europe, the permissions processes required to access data can be complex. This paper documents the processes required by the EUROlinkCAT study investigators to research the health and survival of children with congenital anomalies in Europe.

Background: Turner syndrome is a rare congenital anomaly caused by complete or partial X chromosome monosomy that may affect mortality and morbidity in childhood.
Methods: This population-based data-linkage cohort study, as part of the EUROlinkCAT project, investigated mortality and morbidity for the first 5 years of life for liveborn European children diagnosed with Turner syndrome. Thirteen population-based registries in 10 countries from the European surveillance of congenital anomalies (EUROCAT) network participated.

Introduction: When considering health-related impacts of foods, nutrient profile and (ultra)processing are two complementary dimensions. The Nutri-Score informs on the nutrient profile dimension. Recently, mounting evidence linked ultraprocessed food consumption to various adverse health outcomes, independently of their nutrient profile.

Background: Animal and plant protein sources have contrasting relationships with nutrient adequacy and long-term health, and their adequate ratio is highly debated.
Objective: We aimed to explore how the percentage of plant protein in the diet (%PP) relates to nutrient adequacy and long-term health but also to environmental pressures, to determine the adequate and potentially optimal %PP values.
Methods: Observed diets were extracted from the dietary intakes of French adults (INCA3, n = 1,125).

Background: Shared decision-making is an important component of a patient-centered healthcare system. We assessed the prevalence of parturients with preferences for their labor and childbirth, expressed verbally in the birthing room or as a written birth plan, and studied maternal, obstetric, and organizational factors associated with their expression.
Methods: Data came from the 2016 National Perinatal Survey, a cross-sectional nationwide population-based survey conducted in France.

Objective: The objective of this study was to compare two strategies for passive second stage management: three-hour vs two-hour delayed pushing after the diagnosis of full cervical dilation on mode of delivery and perinatal outcomes.
Study Design: This retrospective observational study included low-risk nulliparous women who reatched full cervical dilation under epidural analgesia with a single term fetus in cephalic presentation and normal fetal heart rate, between September and December 2016. Mode of delivery (spontaneous vaginal delivery versus operative delivery including cesarean section and instrumental vaginal delivery) and perinatal outcomes (post-partum hemorrhage, perineal lacerations, 5-min Apgar score, umbilical cord pH and transfer to neonatal intensive care unit) were compared between two maternity units: maternity unit A, where women could have up to a three-hour delayed pushing period after full cervical dilation diagnosis, and maternity unit B, where the delayed pushing period was a maximum of 2 h.

Purpose: Thinness in adolescence has not been studied as extensively as overweight or obesity. The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence, characteristics, and health impacts of thinness in a European adolescent population.
Methods: This study included 2711 adolescents (1479 girls, 1232 boys).

Background: Diet may impact important risk factors for endometrial cancer such as obesity and inflammation. However, evidence on the role of specific dietary factors is limited. We investigated associations between dietary fatty acids and endometrial cancer risk in the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC).

Background: Domestic and parental occupational pesticide exposures are suspected of involvement in the occurrence of childhood acute leukaemia (AL), but the role of exposure to agricultural activities is little known. In a previous ecological study conducted in France, we observed an increase in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) incidence rate with increasing viticulture density in the municipalities of residence at diagnosis.
Objectives: This study aimed to test the hypothesis that residential proximity to croplands at birth increases the risk of childhood AL, with a particular focus on vineyards.

Background: Hydrocephalus is a frequent neurological condition, commonly treated by ventriculoperitoneal shunting (VPS), a neurosurgical procedure with significant risk of infection. Some severely brain-injured hydrocephalic patients with swallowing dysfunction may require percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG). There are few data on the safety of PEG in patients with VPS, with contradictory results reported.

Objectives: Recent studies suggest an association between COVID-19 infection during pregnancy and preeclampsia. Nonetheless, these studies are subject to numerous biases. We compared the onset of preeclampsia in a group with symptomatic COVID-19 during pregnancy to that in a group whose non-exposure to the virus was certain, in a center where pregnancy management was identical in both groups.
