Due to the increasingly serious water environment pollution, the difficulty of Water Quality Monitoring (abbreviated as WQM for convenience) is also constantly increasing, which puts forward more requirements for the capabilities of various aspects of WQM systems. However, the current WQM method has drawbacks such as slow speed, long monitoring time, complex operation, poor stability, and the inability to obtain accurate information on water pollution in the first time, as well as the generation of toxic and harmful secondary pollutants after some measurement parameters are tested. To address these issues and ensure water quality safety, this paper investigated the algorithm for monitoring water quality parameters using artificial intelligence data mining optical systems.

Wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) is an effective, non-invasive method for monitoring the spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) by tracking viral prevalence in water. This study aimed to investigate the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in surface water in Vietnam over two years. One-step quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) assays were employed to quantify SARS-CoV-2 and its variant-specific mutation sites (G339D/E484A) and pepper mild mottle virus (PMMoV) from a total of 315 samples (105 samples per site) to compare with reported Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases and environmental factors.

To solve the problems of antibiotic pollution, water resources and energy shortage, an osmotic microbial fuel cell (OsMFC) was adopted innovatively to treat antibiotic wastewater containing sulfamethoxazole (SMX), and achieved SMX removal, water production and electricity generation. Substrate concentration was one of the key factors affecting the performances of OsMFC, but there were few relevant studies This study explored the effect of substrate concentration on system performances, clarified the dynamic changes of membrane fouling under different substrate concentrations, and further revealed the response of microbial communities. The results showed that the stable removal efficiency of SMX exceeded 98.

Background And Aims: Continuous vegetable production under plastic tunnels faces challenges like soil degradation, increased soil-borne pathogens, and diminished eggplant yield. These factors collectively threaten the long-term sustainability of food security by diminishing the productivity and resilience of agricultural soils. This research examined the use of raw garlic stalk (RGS) waste and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) as a sustainable solution for these issues in eggplant monoculture.

Pyrite is one of the most abundant metal sulfide tailings and is susceptible to oxidation, yielding acidic mine drainage (AMD) that poses significant environmental risks. Consequently, the exploration of pyrite surface oxidation and the kinetic influencing factors remains a pivotal research area. Despite the oxidation of pyrite producing a significant amount of sulfate (SO), a comprehensive investigation into its influence on the oxidation process is lacking.
