A novel methodology for the annulation of terminal alkynes and -phenylenediamines by using a combination of a cobalt catalyst and oxygen as a terminal oxidant is reported. This method shows wide substrate scope and good functional group tolerance and provides a wide range of quinoxalines in good to high yields. The method is demonstrated by its gram-scale and broad potential applications.

Commercially wrist-worn devices often present inaccurate estimations of energy expenditure (EE), with large between-device differences. We aimed to assess the validity of the Apple Watch Series 6 (AW), Garmin FENIX 6 (GF) and Huawei Watch GT 2e (HW) in estimating EE during outdoor walking and running. Twenty young normal-weight Chinese adults concurrently wore three index devices randomly positioned at both wrists during walking at 6 km/h and running at 10 km/h for 2 km on a 400- meter track.

Reverse genetics system offers powerful tool for the research of RNA viruses. The infectious clones of classical swine fever virus (CSFV) were commonly constructed either in high- or low-copy number plasmids and transcribed to infectious RNA using phage RNA-polymerases. Herein, the full-length genome of CSFV Shimen strain, flanked by cytomegalovirus immediate-early (CMV) promoter (a eukaryotic RNA polymerase II promoter) sequence at the 5'-end and the hepatitis delta virus ribozyme along with the bovine growth hormone termination and polyadenylation signal sequences at the 3'-end, was packaged in bacterial artificial chromosome vector to establish a CSFV infectious clone pBAC-smCSFV.

DLC1 (deleted in liver cancer-1) is downregulated or deleted in colorectal cancer (CRC) tissues and functions as a potent tumor suppressor, but the underlying molecular mechanism remains elusive. We found that the conditioned medium (CM) collected from DLC1-overexpressed SW1116 cells inhibited the migration of colon adenocarcinoma cells HCT116 and SW1116, but had no effect on proliferation, which suggested DLC1-mediated secretory components containing a specific inhibitor for colon adenocarcinoma cell migration. Analysis by mass spectrometry identified mesencephalic astrocyte-derived neurotrophic factor (MANF) as a candidate.

Glacier shrinkage opens new proglacial terrain with pronounced environmental gradients along longitudinal and lateral chronosequences. Despite the environmental harshness of the streams that drain glacier forelands, their benthic biofilms can harbor astonishing biodiversity spanning all domains of life. Background: Delta-like homologue 1 (DLK1), a transmembrane protein, is highly expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We explored whether DLK1-directed chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells can specifically eliminate DLK1-positive HCC cells and serve as a therapeutic strategy for HCC immunotherapy.

Methods: We first characterized a homemade anti-human DLK1 monoclonal antibody, sequenced the single-chain Fragment variable (scFv) and integrated it into the second-generation CAR lentiviral vector, and then developed the DLK1-directed CAR-T cells.
