The essence of enterotypes is stratifying the entire human gut microbiome, which modulates the association between diet and disease risk. A study was designed at the Center of Reproductive Medicine, Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University and Jinghua Hospital of Shenyang. Prevotella and Bacteroides were analyzed in 407 samples of stool, including 178 men with enterotype B (61 normal, 117 overweight/obese) and 229 men with enterotype P (74 normal, 155 overweight/obese).

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted health systems globally and widened preexisting disparities. We conducted a scoping review on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on women and girls' access to and utilisation of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services for contraception, abortion, gender-based and intimate partner violence (GBV/IPV) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Methods: We systematically searched peer reviewed literature and quantitative reports, published between December 2019 and July 2021, focused on women and girls' (15-49 years old) access to and utilisation of selected SRH services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite great advances in assisted reproductive technology (ART), recurrent implantation failure (RIF) cannot be effectively avoided. Notably, cellular characteristics and communication that regulate endometrial receptivity and differentiation, and its disorders in RIF at window of implantation (WOI) remain rudimentary. In this study, we profiled the endometrial cells present at the WOI timing in RIF patients and healthy controls using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and provided a detailed molecular and cellular map of a healthy and RIF endometrium at the WOI.

Background: The mechanisms of age-dependent reproductive decline in men are largely overlooked. An age-dependent reduction in nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) levels has been reported in multiple somatic and female reproductive tissues, including oocytes and ovarian tissue. However, the relationship between NAD + levels and male reproduction has not yet been studied.

Ovarian cancer has a higher resistance to chemotherapy, displaying the highest mortality rate among gynecological cancers. Recently, immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy is an effective treatment for selected patients. However, a low response rate for immune checkpoint treatment was observed for ovarian cancer patients.

Methods: A multicenter prospective study recruited 1116 patients for ultrasound surveillance between 2010 and 2012. All pregnancies were growth-restricted singleton gestations between 24 + 0 and 36 + 0 weeks.

Objective: To study the clinical efficacy and cost-effectiveness of a modified gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist protocol based on luteinizing hormone (LH) levels through one complete assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycle in normal responders.
Design: Non-inferiority, multicenter randomized controlled trial.
Setting: University-based hospitals and an academic medical center.

Background: The gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist protocol is advantageous given that it can avoid severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), especially for patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Basic and clinical evidence has shown that a threshold of luteinizing hormone (LH) stimulation is required for adequate follicular development and oocyte maturation. Ultra-low or high levels of LH are detrimental to pregnancy outcomes.

This single-centre retrospective cohort study aimed to investigate whether a clomiphene citrate (CC) priming protocol could increase ovarian sensitivity in poor ovarian responders. It included 294 patients (374 ovarian stimulation cycles). Of these, 193 cycles were treated by a CC priming antagonist protocol (study group) and 181 by the classical flexible gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist protocol (control group).

Though likely the most common clinical diagnosis in reproductive medicine, the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is still only poorly understood. Based on previously published research, and here newly presented supportive evidence, we propose to replace the four current phenotypes of PCOS with only two entities-a hyperandrogenic phenotype (H-PCOS) including current phenotypes A, B, and C, and a hyper-/hypoandrogenic phenotype (HH-PCOS), representing the current phenotype D under the Rotterdam criteria. Reclassifying PCOS in this way likely establishes two distinct genomic entities, H-PCOS, primarily characterized by metabolic abnormalities (i.

Obesity impacts multiple sites of the hypothalamus-pituitary gland-ovary axis (HPO axis) and has become a leading cause of female infertility. However, the critical hypothalamic neurons that participate in the development of obesity-induced infertility have not been well defined yet. Previous studies suggested that metabolic-sensing agouti-related peptide-expressing (AgRP) neurons in the arcuate nucleus (ARC) are hyperactive in diet-induced obesity (DIO) mice.

Study Question: Does intraovarian injection of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) change ovarian function in patients with extremely low functional ovarian reserve (LFOR) who, otherwise, would likely only have a chance of pregnancy through third-party oocyte donation?
Summary Answer: No clinically significant effects of PRP treatment on ovarian function were observed over 1 year of follow-up.
What Is Known Already: Several investigators have reported improved responses to ovulation induction after treatment with PRP. However, previous published reports have involved, at most, only small case series.

Study Question: What are the outcomes for patients who choose to move embryos diagnosed as abnormal by preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) to a new institution for transfer after the diagnosing institution refused to transfer them?
Summary Answer: Many patients seek to have selected embryos with PGT-A abnormal trophectoderm biopsies transferred recognizing that these embryos can still offer a chance of pregnancy and live birth.
What Is Known Already: : PGT-A is a widely practiced method of selecting embryos for transfer based on biopsy of a few cells. Many clinical practices refuse to transfer PGT-A abnormal embryos even when there are no other 'normal' embryos available.

In females, reproductive success is dependent on the expression of a number of genes regulated at different levels, one of which is through epigenetic modulation. How a specific epigenetic modification regulates gene expression and their downstream effect on ovarian function are important for understanding the female reproductive process. The trimethylation of histone3 at lysine27 (H3K27me3) is associated with gene repression.

The hypothesis of preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) was first proposed 20 years ago, suggesting that during IVF elimination of aneuploid embryos prior to transfer will improve implantation rates of remaining embryos and, therefore, increase pregnancy and live birth rates, while also reducing miscarriages. Subsequently, unvalidated and increasingly unrestricted clinical utilization of PGT-A called for at least one properly randomized controlled trial (RCT) to assess cumulative live birth rates following a single oocyte retrieval, utilizing all fresh and frozen embryos of an IVF cycle. Only recently two such RCTs were published, however both, when properly analysed, not only failed to demonstrate significant advantages from utilization of PGT-A, but actually demonstrated outcome deficits in comparison to non-use of PGT-A, when patient selection biases in favour of PGT-A were reversed.

Uterine artery pseudoaneurysms are caused by damage to blood vessel walls from iatrogenic changes including cesarean section or cervical dilatation and uterine curettage. Manual vacuum aspiration (MVA) is becoming increasingly popular from the perspective of reducing the risk of endometrial injury. This is a case report of a 33-year-old primigravida female patient diagnosed with an unruptured uterine artery pseudoaneurysm that spontaneously resolved after surgery for miscarriage using MVA.

Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study, patient files of all couples (#1733) who underwent oocyte retrieval between January 2017 and December 2019 were reviewed and 191 cases diagnosed with non-male factor infertility in which ≤ 3 cumulus-oocyte complexes available for fertilisation were analysed. Exclusion criteria were: woman age > 42, patients with a history of previous ART trial, prenatal genetic testing cycles and couples undergoing total cryopreservation for any indication.
