Burn injuries result in long-lasting health issues and impact quality of life globally, leading researchers to investigate mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) transplantation for treatment.
In a study with Sprague-Dawley rats, three groups were examined: a control group, a burn injury group, and a group receiving MSC transplantation, with evaluations at intervals post-treatment.
Results showed that the MSC-treated group had improved burn healing, evidenced by better tissue regeneration, with notable changes in cytokine levels indicating an enhanced immune response favoring recovery.
