Consumer use of cannabidiol (CBD) is growing, but there are still data gaps regarding its possible adverse effects on reproduction and development. Multiple pathways and signaling cascades involved in organismal development and neuronal function, including endocannabinoid synthesis and signaling systems, are well conserved across phyla, suggesting that can model the effects of exogenous cannabinoids. The effects in on oxidative stress response (OxStrR), developmental timing, juvenile and adult spontaneous locomotor activity, reproductive output, and organismal CBD concentrations were assessed after exposure to purified CBD or a hemp extract suspended in 0.

This article provides a comprehensive review of the toxic effects of environmental pollution on the male reproductive system, with a particular emphasis on ferroptosis, a form of programmed cell death. Research has shown that environmental pollutants, such as heavy metals, pesticide residues, and plastic additives, can disrupt oxidative stress, increasing the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in germ cells. This disruption damages cellular lipids, proteins, and DNA, culminating in cell dysfunction or death.

In the swine industry, there is a strong need to replace an antibiotic growth promoter (AGP) used as feed additives in weaned piglets to enhance nutrient utilization in their diets and improve growth performance. Lactobacillus sakei HS-1 strain is a microbial preparation isolated from pickles. The study aim is to investigate the effectiveness of heat-treated L.

Adiposity is an established risk factor for multiple diseases, but the causal relationships of different adiposity types with circulating protein biomarkers have not been systematically investigated. We examine the causal associations of general and central adiposity with 2923 plasma proteins among 3977 Chinese adults (mean BMI = 23.9 kg/m²).

Models to predict perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) concentrations in livestock based on soil concentrations are essential to guide decisions surrounding food testing and farm management. A key parameter in modeling soil-to-livestock exposure pathways is the plant transfer factor (TF) from soil into forages. Uptake of PFOS and other individual per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) were examined in perennial mixed grasses and legumes on PFAS-contaminated farm fields.

Objectives: Although Clostridium perfringens sporulation is a key event in the pathogenesis of food-borne illness, the molecules and underlying mechanisms responsible for regulating sporulation are incompletely understood. The present study sought to identify amino acids that affect sporulation in C. perfringens strain SM101.

Insects discern the presence of hosts (host plants) by integrating chemosensory, gustatory, and visual cues, with olfaction playing a pivotal role in this process. Among these factors, volatile signals produced by host-associated microbial communities significantly affect insect attraction. Microorganisms are widely and abundantly found on the surfaces of humans, plants, and insects.

Environmentally friendly and non-toxic bio-based adhesives are emerging as the most promising substitutes for petroleum-based adhesives, attracting increasing attention. This work involved the synthesis of a starch-based adhesive for particleboards by grafting diacetone acrylamide (DAAM) onto starch. The graft polymerization was initiated using three different initiators: ammonium persulfate (APS), hydrogen peroxide (HO)/ammonium ferrous sulfate system, and ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN).
