Given the psychic strain patients experience in the intensive care unit (ICU), a potential risk of mental disorders has been suggested. However, the effects of intensive care treatment per se are unknown. We investigated whether the level of intensive care treatments is an independent risk factor for developing long-term mental disorders after intensive care.

Background & Aims: Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) provides data on short-term glycemic variability (GV). GV is associated with adverse outcomes in individuals with diabetes. Whether GV is associated with cardiometabolic risk in individuals without diabetes is unclear.

Protocol for identifying and characterising critical physical tasks in the military: Development and validation.

Background: When establishing Physical Employment Standards, validity is dependent on the correct identification and characterisation of critical job tasks.

Objective: To develop and validate a standardised protocol for the identification, characterisation, and documentation of critical physical job tasks in military occupational specialities in the Swedish Armed Forces (SwAF), and propose a definition of critical physical job tasks for use in the SwAF.

Methods: A protocol was drafted with three content domains, including a preliminary definition.

Background: Adherence to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) guidelines in treatment of in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) have been associated with favourable patient outcome. The aim of this study was to evaluate if compliance with initial CPR guidelines and patient outcome of witnessed IHCA events were associated with the place of arrest defined as monitored versus non-monitored ward.

Methods: A total of 956 witnessed IHCA events in adult patients at six hospitals during 2018 to 2019, were extracted from the Swedish Registry of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

Background: Childhood cancer impacts the family system and has psychosocial consequences for all family members. For the parents, the ill child, and the siblings to be able to adjust to this challenging situation, the whole family needs access to psychosocial support. However, only a few such family interventions in pediatric oncology have been evaluated.

Incidence and case ascertainment of treated in-hospital cardiac arrest events in a national quality registry - A comparison of reported and non-reported events.

Background: Approximately 2500 in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) events are reported annually to the Swedish Registry of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (SRCR) with an estimated incidence of 1.7/1000 hospital admissions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the compliance in reporting IHCA events to the SRCR and to compare reported IHCA events with possible non-reported events, and to estimate IHCA incidence.

Introducing a triage and Nurse on Call model in primary health care - a focus group study of health care staff's experiences.

Background: With the increased demand for health care services and with simultaneous staff shortages, new work models are needed in primary health care. In November 2015, a Swedish primary health care centre introduced a work model consisting of a structured patient sorting system with triage and Nurse on Call. The aim of this study was to describe the staff's experiences of introducing the triage and Nurse on Call model at the primary health care centre.

Predictors of response and adherence to enuresis alarm therapy-a confirmatory study.

Aim: To look for predictors to response and adherence to the enuresis alarm while exploring the possibility of families managing therapy independently.

Methods: We used a body-worn alarm linked to a smartphone app. Subjects with enuresis were recruited both via paediatric nurses and independently as families bought the alarm and downloaded the app on their own.

Haematopoietic stem cell transplantation for treatment of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis in Sweden: an observational cohort study.

Background: A growing evidence base supports the use of autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (aHSCT) for treatment of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS), but it has not yet been integrated into most national clinical guidelines. The objective of this study was to assess efficacy and safety when aHSCT is implemented in routine healthcare.

Methods: We assessed 231 patients and the final analysis included 174 RRMS patients who were treated with aHSCT in Sweden before 1 January 2020.

Background: The Swedish Physical Activity on Prescription (PAP-S) is a method for healthcare to promote physical activity for prevention and treatment of health disorders. Despite scientific support and education campaigns, the use has been low. Health-related quality of life of children with spinal muscular atrophy in Sweden: A prospective cohort study in the era of disease-modifying therapy.

The objective of this study was to estimate change over time in health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) in Sweden. Children with SMA were identified via the National Patient Register by the National Board of Health and Welfare in Sweden. Patient HRQoL was caregiver proxy-assessed using the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 4.

Background: Parenting demands a high degree of attention, planning, and problem-solving, including time management, demands that can be challenging for parents with ADHD. Let's Get Organized (LGO) is an occupational therapy group intervention aiming at developing skills in time management, organisation and planning. Complementary elements of support after gastric-bypass surgery perceived by adults with previous type 2 diabetes: A qualitative study 2 years after bariatric surgery.

Bariatric surgery is the most medically and cost-effective treatment for adults with obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Our findings suggest initial improvements in health-related quality of life that may decline as support from follow-up care ends. How patients experience long-term support is not well described.
