Meptyldinocap is a dinitrophenol fungicide used to control powdery mildew. Although other dinitrophenol pesticides have been found to exhibit reproductive toxicity, studies of meptyldinocaps are scarce. This study investigated the adverse effects of meptyldinocap on porcine trophectoderm (pTr) and porcine endometrial luminal epithelial (pLE) cells, which play crucial roles in implantation.

Improving reproductive performance of repeat breeder buffalo cows due to clinical endometritis is crucial in overcoming infertility problems in buffalo cows. The aim of the present study was to use PGF2α and/or gentamicin 10% for treatment of endometritis and to determine biochemical parameters in serum that could be used to diagnose endometritis in buffalo cows. A total of 64 anestrous buffalo cows were assigned into one of five treatment groups: group one (n = 9) buffalo cows were physiological normal cows and served as a control group; group 2 buffalo cows had endometritis, but were not treated (n = 10); group 3 buffalo cows had endometritis and were treated with intrauterine delivery of 100 ml of a 10% gentamicin sulfate solution in three times within 1 week (n = 15); group 4 buffalo cows received two I.

The peri-implantation period of pregnancy is critical for conceptus development, implantation, and signaling for establishment of pregnancy. This study evaluated the effects of bisphenol A (BPA) on proliferation, adhesion, and migration of porcine trophectoderm (pTr2) cells, expression of transporters of arginine and synthesis of amino acids. All concentrations of BPA decreased proliferation and adhesion of pTr2 cells after 96 h compared to the control group.

Melatonin has been shown to improve in vitro fertilization and offspring survival after bacterial infection, but its role in regulating maternal-fetal communication during early pregnancy has not been investigated. Results of this study demonstrated expression of abundant melatonin receptors in conceptus and endometrium during early pregnancy. In gilts, expression of melatonin receptor 1A (MTNR1A or MT1) and melatonin receptor 1B (MTNR1B or MT2) increased in trophectoderm (Tr) and uterine luminal epithelium (LE) with advancing days during early pregnancy in a different manner.

Meeting the increasing demands for high-quality pork protein requires not only improved diets but also biotechnology-based breeding to generate swine with desired production traits. Biotechnology can be classified as the cloning of animals with identical genetic composition or genetic engineering (via recombinant DNA technology and gene editing) to produce genetically modified animals or microorganisms. Cloning helps to conserve species and breeds, particularly those with excellent biological and economical traits.

Bisphenol A (BPA) is an endocrine-disrupting chemical used in the manufacture of many products used daily. In the present study, the effects of BPA (1 × 10 to 1 × 10 M) on migration and on the expression of some apoptotic genes were examined in vitro using ovine trophectoderm (oTr1) primary cell line. The results revealed that BPA at 1 × 10, 1 × 10 and 1 × 10M increased migration of oTr1 cells, while 1 × 10, 1 × 10 and 1 × 10 M BPA decreased cell migration.

The success of implantation and placentation during early pregnancy depends on the intrauterine environment of diverse histotrophs, including nutrients, growth factors, cytokines, and chemokines. Here, we determined the functional role and signal transduction of CC-motif chemokine 20 (CCL20) in the porcine endometrium during pregnancy. The expression of CCL20 and its receptor CCR6 was abundant in the glandular epithelium (GE) and luminal epithelium (LE) of the porcine endometrium during early pregnancy.

Chrysin is a natural compound derived from honey, propolis, or passion flowers and has many functional roles, such as antiinflammatory and antiangiogenesis effects. Although endometriosis is a benign gynecological disease, there is a need to identify the pathology and develop a therapy for endometriosis. Elucidating the biological mechanism of chrysin on endometriosis will improve the understanding of endometriosis.

Homosalate is an organic ultraviolet filter used in most sunscreens but has been reported to be toxic to marine organisms. The estrogenic activity of homosalate has also been reported, but its endocrine-disrupting effect remains unclear. Although homosalate has been detected in human placental tissues, its effect on the survival of human trophoblast cells needs to be investigated.

Ephrin A1 has a role in a variety of biological events, including cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and angiogenesis. Ephrin A1 expression is abundant in trophoblasts and endometrial cells during the implantation period; however, its intracellular activities have not yet been reported in bovine endometrial (BEND) epithelial cells. The aim of this study was to identify the functional role of ephrin A1 in BEND cells, which have served as a good model system for investigating the regulation of signal transduction following treatment with interferon-τ (IFNT) in vitro.

Silibinin is a flavonolignan extracted from milk thistle, which has been used for treating liver disorders, various cancers, and gynecological diseases. However, attempts for treating endometriosis with silibinin are lacking. In this study, we observed that silibinin exerts antiproliferative and apoptotic effects on human endometriotic cell lines VK2/E6E7 and End1/E6E7.

Chemokines and their receptors play a crucial role in embryo implantation at the maternal-fetal interface during pregnancy. In this study, we investigated the role of CCL4 in development of the porcine endometrium in the early gestational period. Porcine CCL4 showed high similarity with the human counterpart, and mRNA expression of CCL4 and its receptor (CCR5) was predominantly present in the endometrium during early pregnancy.

Sideroxylin is a C-methylated flavone isolated from Callistemon lanceolatus and exerts antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. However, the anticancer effects of sideroxylin and its intracellular signaling mechanisms have not yet been identified. Results of our study showed that sideroxylin decreased cell proliferation and increased apoptosis, causing DNA fragmentation, depolarization of the mitochondrial membrane, the generation of reactive oxygen species, and an increase of lipid peroxidation in ovarian cancer cells (ES2 and OV90 cells).

In the uterine environment, the pre-implantation embryo adapts to low oxygen concentrations through intracellular responses including modification of gene expression, progression via the cell cycle and metabolism. In this study, we determined mechanisms underlying the adaptation of pig embryos to oxygen deficiency in the maternal-conceptus microenvironment in in vitro experiments using our established porcine trophectoderm (pTr) cells in culture. The transition from G to S phase in pTr cells was reduced in response to 2% oxygen during a short period (<24 h), and the hypoxia-induced G arrest was reversible during prolonged hypoxia exposure.

This study evaluated the effects of bisphenol A (BPA) on proliferation of ovine trophectoderm (oTr1) cells, as well as expression of genes for transport of arginine and synthesis of polyamines. BPA reduced proliferation of oTr1 cells at concentrations of 1 × 10, 1 × 10, 1 × 10 M compared to concentrations of 0, 1 × 10, and 1 × 10 M at 24 and 96 h of culture. Lower concentrations of BPA significantly increased expression of mRNAs for agmatinase (AGMAT), arginine decarboxylase (ADC), ornithine decarboxylase (ODC1) and solute carrier family 7 member 1 (SLC7A1).

C-C motif chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2) is a small chemokine which belongs to the CC-type chemokine family, and has chemoattractant activity for recruitment of monocytes to sites of inflammation. Overexpressed CCL2 binding to its receptor C-C chemokine receptor 2 increases the risk of breast cancer in humans, but its effects on proliferation of bovine mammary epithelial cells is not known. Maintaining a high level of proliferative activity in bovine mammary epithelial cells during lactation is important for improving milk yield and can benefit the dairy industry economically.
