In this paper, we successfully fabricated color conversion layers (CCLs) for full-color-mico-LED display using a perovskite quantum dot (PQD)/siloxane composite by ligand exchanged PQD with silane composite followed by surface activation by an addition of halide-anion containing salt. Due to this surface activation, it was possible to construct the PQD surface with a silane ligand using a non-polar organic solvent that does not damage the PQD. As a result, the ligand-exchanged PQD with a silane compound exhibited high dispersibility in the siloxane matrix and excellent atmospheric stability due to sol-gel condensation.

Wrinkled graphene offers many advantageous features resulting from modifying the structural and physical properties as well as the chemical reactivity of graphene. However, its inadequate transferability to other substrates has limited its usability. This paper reports a roll-based clean transfer approach that enables the damage-free and contamination-free transfer of large-area wrinkled graphene onto polymeric substrates without compromising the integrity of wrinkle structures.

Graphene, an atomically thin material, has unique electrical, mechanical, and optical properties that can enhance the performance of thin film-based flexible and transparent devices, including gas sensors. Graphene synthesized on a metallic catalyst must first be transferred onto a target substrate using wet or dry transfer processes; however, the graphene surface is susceptible to chemical modification and mechanical damage during the transfer. Defects on the graphene surface deteriorate its excellent intrinsic properties, thus reducing device performance.

An ultrawideband electromagnetic metamaterial absorber is proposed that consists of double-layer metapatterns optimally designed by the genetic algorithm and printed using carbon paste. By setting the sheet resistance of the intermediate carbon metapattern to a half of that of the top one, it is possible to find an optimal intermediate metapattern that reflects and absorbs the EM wave simultaneously. By adding an absorption resonance via a constructive interference at the top metapattern induced by the reflection from the intermediate one, an ultrawideband absorption can be achieved without increasing the number of layers.

In this paper, an intuitive approach to assessing advantages of beamforming in 5G wireless communication is proposed as a novel try and practical demonstration of importance of alignment between the transmitter's and receiver's beams working in millimeter-wave frequency bands. Since the diffraction loss of millimeter-wave signals matters seriously in propagation, the effects of the misalignment and alignment between beams need to be checked for, which was conducted with a horn antenna and the 4 × 4 Butler matrix which mimic the relationship of the base station and handset antennas. Designing and using the microstrip-line and the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) Butler matrices, RF-to-RF wireless connectivity between the horn and the microstrip line beamformer as case 1 and the horn and the SIW beamformer as case 2, concerning the changing angle of the beam from either of the two Butler matrices, was tested, showing over 12 dB enhancement in received power.

In this paper, a new sensor is developed to estimate the dielectric constant of Cyclo Olefin Polymer (COP) film utilizable for 5G mobile phones' multi-layered back-cover. It is featured by the electrical characterization of the thin layer of the COP film at 28 GHz as the material under test (MUT) directly contacting the planar probe (which is an array of resonating patches) and a new meta-surface as metal patterned on the COP film inserted between the planar probe and the 5G multi-layered back-cover for enhanced physical interpretation of the data by way of impedance matching. In this approach to delving into the material, a thin and small meta-surface film with an area of 25.

We propose an embedded reverse-offset printing (EROP) method, which generates silver nanowire (AgNW) transparent electrodes for display applications. The proposed EROP method can solve the two critical issues of microscale pattern formation and surface planarization. The AgNW electrode had a transmittance of 82% at 550 nm, a sheet resistance of 12.

Although nanosizing of multiphase pseudocapacitive nanomaterials could dramatically improve their electrochemical properties, a proper way to simultaneously control both the size and the phase of the pseudocapacitive materials is still elusive. Herein, we employed a commercial CO laser engraver to do the transformation of a metal-organic framework (MOF-74(Ni)) into size-controlled Ni nanoparticles (4-12 nm) in porous carbon. The produced Ni@carbon hybrid showed the best specific capacitance of 925 F/g with excellent cycling stability when the particle size is 5.

A ground-plane cloak is designed based on the quasi-conformal mapping method to hide a perfectly conducting object. It is fabricated with a metamaterial, a mixture of a dielectric and air. Using the dielectric mixing formula, the required volume fraction is calculated for a designed refractive index of the cloak.

Adhesion between a stamp with an elastomeric layer and various devices or substrates is crucial to successfully fabricate flexible electronics using a transfer process. Although various transfer processes using stamps with different adhesion strengths have been suggested, the controllable range of adhesion is still limited to a narrow range. To precisely transfer devices onto selected substrates, however, the difference in adhesion between the picking and placing processes should be large enough to achieve a high yield.
