Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders range from intermittent heartburn to life-threatening GI hemorrhage. Objective: Given recent discussions in the literature and across the Academy about curricular overload and calls for tools that aid in reducing content, it is important to determine what tools and resources programs are using to evaluate curricular content and how these resources are used to inform curricular change. Thus, the objective of this research project is to describe tools and resources pharmacy programs use for curricular content and change.

Methods: A 17-item instrument was created, pilot-tested, and then distributed electronically to assessment leads at accredited pharmacy programs with multiple reminders to improve response rates.

Objective: We sought to describe short term outcomes in patients with large vessel occlusion acute ischemic stroke (LVOAIS) who were treated with intravenous tenecteplase (TNK) as compared to alteplase (tPA), focusing on reduction in the need for mechanical thrombectomy (MT).

Background: In LVOAIS, TNK has shown improved reperfusion and outcomes with a similar safety profile to tPA. Ultra-early reperfusion has been described with TNK which would prevent the need for MT.

Objective: The objective of this study was to determine if peer instruction (PI) is a useful active learning pedagogy to increase correct responses to pharmacotherapy concepts throughout didactic education in a Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum.

Methods: Peer instruction was implemented into 3 pharmacy practice courses spanning 3 years of didactic pharmacy education at Cedarville University: Introduction to Self-Care (PHAR 6112) in the first professional year, Respiratory Module (PHAR 6261) in the second professional year, and Special Populations Module (PHAR 7343) in the third professional year. ConcepTests, which are multiple-choice questions written to help students apply previous knowledge to new scenarios, were re-polled based on a PI algorithm after peer discussion.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to describe the different strategies used to supplement North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE) preparation in the US pharmacy programs.

Introduction: Despite the heterogeneous nature of remediation definitions, processes, and impact on learning, it is commonly understood as a process for identifying student deficiencies in knowledge, skills, and attitudes that need to be corrected prior to student progression in the program.

Commentary: Current issues related to remediation in pharmacy education include inconsistencies in practices and types within and among institutions, a lack of correlation to student academic success, effects on attrition both positive (student staying on-time for graduation) and negative (students sitting back one year), increase in faculty workload, and negativity or stigma associated with the student.

Implications: Key considerations in developing and implementing remediation policies and procedures include being student-focused, providing a positive frame for remediation, implementing a clear process, and early identification of students who need help.
