Introduction: Fluid and salt overload in patients on dialysis result in high blood pressure (BP), left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) and hemodynamic instability, resulting in cardiovascular morbidity.

Methods: Analysis of 910 pediatric patients on maintenance hemodialysis/hemodiafiltration (HD/HDF), prospectively followed-up with 2758 observations recorded every 6-months in the International Pediatric Hemodialysis Network (IPHN).

Results: Uncontrolled hypertension was present in 55% of observations, with 27% of patients exhibiting persistently elevated predialysis BP.

Objective: To identify all post-BNT162b2 vaccination (BioNTech and Pfizer) events during the ensuing 12 months in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) from the Immuno-Rheumatology Department at Cayetano Heredia Hospital's cohort, Lima, Perú.

Methods: A 12-month follow-up study was conducted from the first dose of immunization with the BNT162b2 vaccine, which was given between May and June 2021, to SLE patients from this cohort.

A 34-year-old man with a recent HIV diagnosis presented to the emergency department with a holocranial headache and skin lesions due to cryptococcosis. He was admitted and during treatment, he presented nausea, persistent vomiting, and epigastric pain. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed multiple round lesions with reddish elevated edges and a pale center in corpus and antrum which were positive for Cryptococcus in pathology analysis.

Intestinal involvement with disseminated histoplasmosis is common in some populations infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), especially in those who come from tropical zones. We report the case of a 29-year-old male patient, from a tropical zone, with HIV infection and a CD value less than 50 cells/mm, with a history of abdominal pain, fever, diarrhea, and weight loss.
