Genital injuries from sexual intercourse in late postmenopause (senium) are rare in clinical practice and may result from sexual abuse. I present a medically and judicially completed case as a contribution to forensic gynaecological literature where an 82-year-old women suffered extensive and life-threatening injury (complete posterior colporrhexis with intestinal evisceration) when she was raped (20 years ago) by a young perpetrator.

In Croatia, the model of obstetrics-midwifery management of childbirth in maternity hospitals is still in effect, and this is how > 99% of Croatian women give birth. However, in my view, midwives are still not sufficiently educated for completely independent work notwithstanding their university education. The Law on Midwifery defined the role of the midwife in home birth without, however, setting out other organisational-communication and professional provisions.

Objectives: We present the original technique of compression hemostatic sutures on the lower uterine segment due to early postpartum hemorrhage during cesarean section, with a literature review.
Methods: A retrospective clinical case study was conducted at the tertiary perinatal center. Twelve patients had nine planned and three urgent cesarean sections due to antenatally verified placenta previa and/or placenta accreta spectrum and defined early postpartum hemorrhage > 1000 mL during cesarean section.

Child sexual abuse is a public health and medico-legal problem in developed and developing countries. Prompted by rare presentations of cases from this issue that change the course and outcome of events, we present the completed criminal-medico-legislative procedure as a contribution to the dynamics of the investigative process from my own many years of forensic practice. Two preschool teachers of late reproductive age from a home for neglected children reported to the State Attorney's Office a former ward of the home, now an older minor, and an auxiliary employee of the same home, for having sexual relations with a two-year-old girl.

Purpose: Women sexual violence as a gynecological, social-criminological and gynecological problem has no declining trend in developing and developed countries, including in Croatia.
Methods: From my own 23-year forensic-gynecological expertises practice, along with the results of legally completed examples of sexual abuses, as a contribution to this problem, which is also read from other works.
Results: Of the cases of sexual abuses (n = 31) with a median age of 37 years, gynecological-forensic expertise proved and confirmed 67.

Background: The heterogeneity and lack of validation of existing severity scores for food allergic reactions limit standardization of case management and research advances. We aimed to develop and validate a severity score for food allergic reactions.
Methods: Following a multidisciplinary experts consensus, it was decided to develop a food allergy severity score (FASS) with ordinal (oFASS) and numerical (nFASS) formats.

Research on grounded cognition suggests that the processing of a word or concept reactivates the perceptual representations that are associated with the referent object. The objective of this work is to demonstrate how behavioral and functional neuroimaging data on grounded cognition can be understood as different manifestations of the same cortical circuit designed to achieve stable category learning, as proposed by the adaptive resonance theory (ART). We showed that the ART neural network provides a mechanistic explanation of why reaction times in behavioral studies depend on the expectation or attentional priming created by the word meaning (Richter and Zwaan, 2009).
