Predicting the length of hospital stay for myasthenia gravis (MG) patients is challenging due to the complex pathogenesis, high clinical variability, and non-linear relationships between variables. Considering the management of MG during hospitalization, it is important to conduct a risk assessment to predict the length of hospital stay. The present study aimed to successfully predict the length of hospital stay for MG based on an expandable data mining technique, multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS).

The present study evaluated the effect of ursolic acid, a natural pentacyclic triterpenoid, on glutamate release in rat cortical nerve terminals (synaptosomes) and its neuroprotection in a kainic acid-induced excitotoxicity rat model. In cortical synaptosomes, ursolic acid produced a concentration-dependent inhibition of evoked glutamate release with a half-maximum inhibition of release value of 9.5 μM, and calcium-free medium and the P/Q -type Ca channel blocker, ω-agatoxin IVA, but not ω-conotoxin GVIA, an N-type Ca channel blocker, prevented the ursoloic acid effect.

Background: The use of magnetic resonance linear accelerators (MR-LINACs) for clinical treatment has opened up new possibilities and challenges in the field of radiation oncology. However, annual quality assurance (QA) is relatively understudied due to practical considerations. Thus, to overcome the difficulty of measuring the dose with a small water phantom for TRS-398 or TG-51 in all external beam radiation treatment unit environments, such as MR compatibility, we designed a remote phantom with a three-axis changeable capacity for QA.

Characteristics of difficult-to-treat axial spondyloarthritis: Results of a real-world multicentric study.

Objective: The EULAR task force recently published the difficult-to-treat RA (D2T RA) definition, however, a definition of D2T axSpA is still lacking and limitations in this definition exist. The objectives were to study the characteristics of D2T axSpA patients using the EULAR definition and to study a subgroup of patients with a predefined more stringent definition including a temporal criterion.
