Spontaneous bilateral patellar tendon rupture in an otherwise healthy patient. A case report.

Bilateral rupture of the patellar tendons is a rare lesion, usually associated with systemic diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic renal failure and others. It is extremely rare in a healthy individual, with fewer than 15 cases described. A case of a 32-year-old male with no known history of systemic disease or knee problems is presented.

In daily practice, arterial hypertension (AHT) and hypercholesterolaemia are frequently associated with the existence of multiple common etiopathogenic interrelationships. This situation leads to an exponential increase in cardiovascular risk for these patients, so it is essential to know the prevalence and therapeutic management of hypercholesterolaemia in the hypertensive patient. This national study analyses the distribution of total cholesterol levels and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol as well as hypercholesterolaemia prevalence and its therapeutic management in the uncontrolled hypertensive Spanish population.

Wandering spleen and gastric volvulus.

Gastric volvulus and wandering spleen are related to anomalies in the intraperitoneal visceral attachments. When encountered during infancy, they have a congenital origin with acquired predisposing factors. Wandering spleen is a rare clinical entity with a diverse form of presentation.
