Aim: The aim of our study was to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of three-dimensional (3D) plating system in the treatment of mid-face fractures.
Patients And Methods: Thirty mid-face fractures in 18 patients at various anatomic locations were treated by open reduction and internal fixation using 3D plates. All patients were followed at regular intervals of 4th, 8th and 12th weeks respectively.

Background: Bubbles and voids on the occlusal surface impede the actual intercuspation and pre-impression preparation aims to reduce the incidence of air bubbles and voids as well as influences the quality of occlusal reproduction and actual clinical intercuspation in the articulator. The study was undertaken to determine the influence of different pre-impression preparation procedures of antagonistic dental arch on the quality of the occlusal reproduction of the teeth in irreversible hydrocolloid impressions and to determine most reliable pre-impression preparation method to reduce the incidence of air bubbles.
Materials And Methods: A total of 20 subjects were selected having full complement of mandibular teeth from second molar to second molar with well demarcated cusp height.

Aims: Prevention of oral precancer is most desirable and should take precedence over its diagnosis and therapy. As both, mast cell counts in connective tissue and serum lipids are altered in Oral Submucous Fibrosis (OSF), so study of both the factors is vitally important in OSF.
Methods: A total of 50 persons were included in the study of which 40 were OSF patients and 10 controls.

Silver binding nucleolar organizer regions (AgNOR) in normal oral mucosa (NOM), oral leukoplakia with epithelial dysplasia (ED), and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) were studied. The mean AgNOR count per nucleus increased from NOM to ED to OSCC. Tissue showing ED in oral leukoplakia and OSCC cases showed higher counts, wider scatter, and smaller size of AgNOR dots in the nuclei.
