Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is considered a metabolic disorder that has been steadily increasing globally and seems to parallel the increasing prevalence of obesity. It consists of a cluster of risk factors which traditionally includes obesity and hyperlipidemia, hyperinsulinemia, hypertension, and hyperglycemia. These four core risk factors are associated with insulin resistance (IR) and, importantly, the MetS is known to increase the risk for developing cerebrocardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Arrhythmias are a class of cardiac dysfunction characterized by heart rate disturbances and heart rhythm abnormalities, which are associated with substantial morbidity and mortality. Due to the limited understanding of pathological mechanism, current antiarrhythmic drugs and invasive therapies on arrhythmias lack sufficient efficacy and are always accompanied by potential adverse effects. Non-coding RNAs (including microRNAs, long non-coding RNAs, circular RNAs, and other small non-coding RNAs) have been demonstrated to be involved in the occurrence and development of various diseases including arrhythmias, which opens a new prospect for exploring the mechanism of arrhythmias and developing new therapeutic targets.

Inflammation modulates many BBB functions, but the ultrastructural cytoarchitectural changes of the BBB with inflammation are understudied. Inflammation was induced in male 8-10-week-old CD-1 mice with intraperitoneal lipopolysaccharide (LPS), using a regimen (3 mg/kg at 0, 6, and 24 h) that caused robust BBB disruption but had minimal lethality at the study timepoint of 28 h.

Methods: A total of 116 severe patients with HF who received treatment in the our hospital between October 2018 and December 2019 were included, including 50 cases (control group) treated with routine nursing and 66 cases (research group) treated with cluster management. The treatment-related indexes (mechanical ventilation time and hospitalization expenses), symptom resolution (dyspnea, insomnia, nausea, and upper abdominal pain), systolic/diastolic blood pressure (SBP/DBP), heart rate (HR), and prognosis (mortality and disability rate) were observed and compared between the two groups.
