Introduction: The psychiatric disorders and obesity comorbidity is related to neurocognitive impairment and inflammation. Exercise is crucial to improve and maintain healthy lifestyles. This randomized controlled trial tested the efficacy of aerobic exercise as promoter of neurocognitive improvement across psychiatric disorders with comorbid obesity (OB).

Non-cancer-related risk factors for secondary lymphedema were defined across four categories: co-morbidity, social determinants of health, behavioral factors, and environmental effectors. Based on rapid reviews of the literature and presentations at the ACS/LANA Lymphedema Summit, this working group categorized these risk factors according to the strength of evidence. Consensus agreement on level of evidence was achieved through one face-to-face working session and three follow-up virtual meetings.

Background: It is well-known that serum uric acid (SUA) can increase the risk of hypertension, diabetes, obesity and dyslipidemia. However, its independent association with the risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) is controversial particularly in different populations. Hence, this study was aimed to assess an independent association of SUA with CVD risk in a Punjabi Pakistani cohort.

Introduction: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has emerged as a potential indicator for cardio-metabolic risk. However, clinical implications of NAFLD in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are still elusive. We investigated to explore the association between NAFLD and adverse clinical outcomes among patients with CKD.

Long-term exposure to traffic-related air pollution (TRAP) is associated with cardiometabolic disease; however, its role in subclinical stages of disease development is unclear. Thus, we aimed to explore this association in a cross-sectional analysis, with cardiometabolic phenotypes derived from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Phenotypes of the left (LV) and right cardiac ventricle, whole-body adipose tissue (AT), and organ-specific AT were obtained by MRI in 400 participants of the KORA cohort.

Male breast cancer (MBC) is a rare condition with unique characteristics compared to female breast cancer (FBC). Despite its scarceness, there is growing evidence that MBC should not be studied and treated as FBC due to factors like later diagnosis stage and distinct genetic makeup. Retrospective observational study in the EpiChron Cohort, selecting all the prevalent patients with breast cancer between 2010 and 2019.

Background: Exposure to trauma across the life course may be associated with cardio-metabolic dysfunction during pregnancy; however, previous research has been inconsistent, particularly in highly exposed populations.
Objectives: To estimate associations between types and timing (first occurrence) of trauma exposure and hypertension experienced during pregnancy in a safety-net hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, 2011-2022.
Methods: Participants completed a 14-item trauma screener.

Obesity is a risk factor for cardio-metabolic and neurological disease. The contribution of gut microbiota to derangements of the gut-brain axis in the context of obesity has been acknowledged, particularly through physiology modulation by short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). Thus, probiotic interventions and administration of SCFAs have been employed with the purpose of alleviating symptoms in both metabolic and neurological disease.

Introduction: given the problematic battle against cardio-metabolic diseases and the increase in computational power, different applications are being developed to help estimate overweight and obesity in the population. Objectives: to evaluate the body mass index (BMI) formula (kg/m2), taking body fat measured by bioimpedance as a reference and comparing it with variations of the same form obtained by applying algebraic transformation rules using an artificial intelligence heuristic search method. Material and methods: an artificial intelligence heuristic method was applied to search for the formula that most accurately calculates people's body fat percentage.

Introduction: This study is a prospective comparative case series analysing the differential impacts of a therapeutic lifestyle intervention (TLI) on individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) and their caregivers. The primary objective was to assess changes across several health metrics predictive of cardio metabolic disease (CMD), fitness, and quality of life, in dyadic partners and between 2 separate cases.
Case Presentation: SCI participants and their respective caregivers, forming 10 dyads, were included in the study.

Background: Time restricted eating (TRE) is a dietary strategy that may improve metabolic health. However, no studies have compared TRE with current practice (CP) in dietetics.
Hypothesis: TRE will not be inferior to CP to improve glycaemic control in individuals at risk of type 2 diabetes (T2D).

Calcific aortic valve disease (CAVD), a nonrheumatic stenosis of the trileaflet aortic valve, is a complex, multifaceted cardiovascular condition involving a widespread inflammatory process and an analogous atheromatous process affecting the arteries. It is currently the most encountered valvular abnormality in cardiology. Although distinctive abnormal mechanical forces are at the core propelling a responsive mechanosensitive feedback cascade, implicated in both initiation and perpetuation of CAVD; we propose a conundrum of metabolic abnormalities including hypertension, elevated fasting blood sugar, decreased high-density lipoprotein, hypertriglyceridemia, and abdominal obesity as perpetuators of this process.

Dietary fatty acids (FA) affect metabolic risk factors. The aim of this study was to explore if changes in dietary fat intake during energy restriction were associated with plasma FA composition. The study also investigated if these changes were associated with changes in liver fat, liver stiffness and plasma lipids among persons with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
