Background And Aims: Internet addiction is one of the most serious behavioral addiction problems affecting the physical and mental health of college students. A model is constructed to reveal the mediating role of anxiety and the moderating role of information cocoons in the relationship between the experiences in close relationship and internet addiction among college students in this article.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey investigated 2946 college students in China who had experienced close romantic relationships.

Background: Precise regulation of cell-cell communication is vital for cell survival and normal function during embryogenesis. The Wnt protein family, a highly conserved and extensively studied group, plays a crucial role in key cell-cell signaling events essential for development and regeneration. Congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT) represent a leading cause of chronic kidney disease in children and young adults, and include a variety of birth abnormalities resulting from disrupted genitourinary tract development during embryonic development.

GW117 functions as both an MT1/MT2 receptor agonist and a 5-HT2C receptor antagonist. This study aimed to investigate the anxiolytic effects of GW117 through behavioral assessments, including the open field test and novelty-suppressed feeding test (NSFT) within a chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) model. GW117 was administered via oral gavage for 21 days to evaluate its sustained anxiolytic effects, with behavioral tests including the NSFT, the Vogel-conflict test, and the O-maze test.

Background: The diagnosis and treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) comorbid with epilepsy have been insufficiently addressed in China. We conducted a study in China to investigate the current status, diagnosis, and treatment of ADHD in children to further our understanding of ADHD comorbid with epilepsy, strengthen its management, and improve patients' quality of life.
Methods: We carried out a multicenter cross-sectional survey of children with epilepsy across China between March 2022 and August 2022.

Aims: The N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor (NMDAR) has been proven to be strongly correlated with rapid antidepressant effects. Here, GW043, as a new compound targeting NMDAR, we explored its antidepressant effects and its mechanism of action.
Methods: Our study utilized electrophysiological techniques to confirm the effect of GW043 on NMDAR currents.

Alterations in circadian sleep patterns constitute a salient manifestation in major depressive disorder. GW117, an emergent antidepressant, functions as an agonist for melatonin 1 and melatonin 2 (MT1/MT2) receptors, in tandem with antagonism of the serotonin (5-HT) 2C receptor. The present investigation is dedicated to elucidating the role and underlying mechanisms by which GW117 ameliorates circadian sleep disruptions.

Objectives: To identify the occurrence rate and predictors of futile recanalisation after endovascular therapy (EVT) for acute vertebrobasilar artery occlusion (VBAO).
Methods: Participants of the Endovascular Treatment Key Technique and Emergency Workflow Improvement of Acute Ischaemic Stroke (ANGEL-ACT) registry were selected for the analysis. Futile recanalisation was defined as patients did not achieve a 90-day good outcome (modified Rankin Scale ≤3) despite successful recanalisation (modified Treatment in Cerebral Ischaemia Scale ≥2b) after the procedure.

Robot-assisted pedicle screw placement in spinal surgery can reduce the complications associated with the screw placement and reduce the hospital return counts due to malfunctions. However, it requires accurate planning for a high-quality procedure. The state-of-the-art technologies reported in the literature either ignore the anatomical variations across vertebrae or require substantial human interactions.

Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the histopathological and genetic changes in the submandibular glands after duct ligation and provide important clues to functional regeneration.
Design: We established a rat salivary gland duct ligation model and observed pathological changes in the rat submandibular gland on day 1 and weeks 1, 2, 3, and 4 using hematoxylin and eosin staining, Alcian blue-periodic acid Schiff staining, Masson staining, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL), and immunohistochemical staining. RNA sequencing was performed on normal salivary glands and those from the ligation model after 1 week.

Rationale: Flask-shaped invaginations of the cardiomyocyte sarcolemma called caveolae require the structural protein caveolin-3 (Cav-3) and host a variety of ion channels, transporters, and signaling molecules. Reduced Cav-3 expression has been reported in models of heart failure, and variants in CAV3 have been associated with the inherited long-QT arrhythmia syndrome. Yet, it remains unclear whether alterations in Cav-3 levels alone are sufficient to drive aberrant repolarization and increased arrhythmia risk.

Background: Hereditary orotic aciduria (HOA) is a rare genetic disorder of pyrimidine metabolism caused by variations in the uridine monophosphate synthetase () gene and inheritance are autosomal recessive. Heterozygous mutations can also lead to orotic aciduria without clinical consequence.
Methods: We conducted molecular genetic analyses on proband using whole-exome sequencing (WES) and on 12 family members using Sanger sequencing for mutation.

Background: Human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) infection can lead to a broad spectrum of lung diseases, including infectious diseases and tumors. Recently, with the wide application of bronchoscopes and cytopathology of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), the diagnostic efficiency of lung diseases has improved. The present study focuses on analyzing the cytopathologic characteristics of BALF in the diagnosis of HIV/AIDS-related lung disease and comparing the lung disease spectrum between HIV and HIV-uninfected patients.

Background: Cytomegalovirus (CMV) has been recognized as one of the frequently occurring opportunistic infections (OIs) reported in the patients having human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS). In addition, it has been identified as the factor leading to gastrointestinal (GI) tract disorder among HIV/AIDS population. CMV exhibits broad cell tropism in different organs.

To investigate the effects of ketamine on glucose uptake and glucose transporter (GLUT) expression in depressive-like mice. After HA1800 cells were treated with ketamine, 2-[N-(7-Nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl)Amino]-2-Deoxyglucose (2-NBDG) was added to the cells to test the effects of ketamine on glucose uptake, production of lactate, and expression levels of GLUT, ERK1/2, AKT, and AMPK. Adult female C57BL/6 mice were subjected to chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS), 27 CUMS mice were randomly divided into the depression, ketamine (i.

Background: Cervical lymphadenopathy refers to a frequently observed clinical presentation in numerous pathological conditions. A wide spectrum of diseases can cause cervical lymphadenopathy, irrespective of the fact that the patients are infected with HIV or not. The present study focuses on validating whether the causes of cervical lymphadenopathy differ significantly in HIV and non-HIV patients by using fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) combining cell block.
