Clinical Laboratory Center, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University, Beijing 100050, China. Electronic address:

The use of glycopeptide medications may decline in line with the annual decline in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) detection rates in China. The rate of heterogeneous vancomycin-intermediate Staphylococcus aureus (hVISA)detection may be impacted by this. However, there is currently a dearth of information on the incidence of hVISA in China.

Department of Endodontics, Capital Medical University School of Stomatology, Beijing 100050, ChinaZheng Ying is working on Department of Stomatology, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Peking Union Medical College, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing 100730, China.

Irreversible pulpitis is characterized by inflammation of the pulp, leading to secondary interstitial hypertension and blood circulation disorders. This study explores the development of one-way membrane decompression to alleviate interstitial hypertension in the inflamed pulp and prevent the invasion of oral microorganisms into the pulp tissue. Additionally, this technique aims to improve the microcirculation of the pulp tissue by consistently reducing the pressure within the pulp cavity.

The transmembrane glycoprotein adhesion molecule CD146 is overexpressed in a wide variety of cancers. Through molecular imaging, a specific biomarker's expression and distribution can be viewed non-invasively. Radionuclide-labeled monoclonal antibodies or relevant fragments that target CD146 may find potential applications in cancer imaging, thereby offering tremendous value in cancer diagnosis, staging, prognosis evaluation, and prediction of drug resistance.

Purpurolide C-based microneedle promotes macrophage-mediated diabetic wound healing inhibiting TLR4-MD2 dimerization and MYD88 phosphorylation.

Acta Pharm Sin B

December 2023

Laboratory of Tissue Regeneration and Immunology and Department of Periodontics, Beijing Key Laboratory of Tooth Regeneration and Function Reconstruction, School of Stomatology, Capital Medical University, Beijing 100050, China.

Delayed wound healing in diabetes is a global challenge, and the development of related drugs is a clinical problem to be solved. In this study, purpurolide C (PC), a small-molecule secondary metabolite of the endophytic fungus , was found to promote diabetic wound healing. To investigate the key regulation targets of PC, RNA-seq, molecular docking calculations, TLR4-MD2 dimerization SDS-PAGE detection, and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) were performed, indicating that PC inhibited inflammatory macrophage activation by inhibiting both TLR4-MD2 dimerization and MYD88 phosphorylation.

The causes of neurodegenerative diseases remain largely elusive, increasing their personal and societal impacts. To reveal the causal effects of iron load on Parkinson's disease (PD), Alzheimer's disease (AD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and multiple sclerosis, we used Mendelian randomisation and brain imaging data from a UK Biobank genome-wide association study of 39,691 brain imaging samples (predominantly of European origin). Using susceptibility-weighted images, which reflect iron load, we analysed genetically significant brain regions.

Department of Nuclear Medicine, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University, Beijing 100050, China.

Background: Burkitt lymphoma (BL) is an exceptionally aggressive malignant neoplasm that arises from either the germinal center or post-germinal center B cells. Patients with BL often present with rapid tumor growth and require high-intensity multi-drug therapy combined with adequate intrathecal chemotherapy prophylaxis, however, a standard treatment program for BL has not yet been established. It is important to identify biomarkers for predicting the prognosis of BLs and discriminating patients who might benefit from the therapy.

Vasculitis, involving any levels of vessels throughout the body, has variable nonspecific clinical presentation and complicated classification, hence, the diagnose is difficult. The liver is not the major organ involved, so it is prone to overlook vasculitis-associated liver injuries. The main manifestations of vasculitis involving the liver include abnormal liver biochemistry test (mainly increase of cholestatic liver enzymes), portal hypertension, and hepatic occupying lesions.
