Anti-mitochondrial autoantibodies (AMAs) are highly specific for the diagnosis of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) but are also occasionally found in other diseases. In the present study, we evaluated the incidence of and predictors for PBC development in AMA-positive patients with other liver or non-liver diseases at baseline. In this retrospective study, we screened patients who tested positive for AMA and/or anti-mitochondrial M2 antibody (AMA-M2) at Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University, from October 2005 to January 2017.

The aim is to explore the impact of the Kasai procedure (KP) and the length of native liver survival time (NLST) on outcomes of liver transplantation (LT). Patients with biliary atresia (BA), who underwent LT in Beijing Friendship Hospital from January 2017 to December 2019, were enrolled and divided into non-KP (N-KP) and post-KP (P-KP) groups. The patients in the P-KP group were further divided into early failure (KP-EF) defined by NLST <1 year, medium failure (KP-MF, NLST 1-5 years), and late failure (KP-LF, NLST >5 years) subgroups.

Background And Aims: In patients with acute liver failure (ALF) who suffer from massive hepatocyte loss, liver progenitor cells (LPCs) take over key hepatocyte functions, which ultimately determines survival. This study investigated how the expression of hepatocyte nuclear factor 4α (HNF4α), its regulators, and targets in LPCs determines clinical outcome of patients with ALF.

Despite the considerable knowledge on the involvement of microRNA-101 (miR-101) in the evolution of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), the underlying mechanisms remain obscure. In this study, miR-101 expression was markedly downregulated in the OSCC cell lines and tissues. Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8), ethynyl deoxyuridine (EdU), and colony formation assays showed that miR-101 inhibited the proliferation of OSCC cells.
