Background: Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapy has been used to treat pediatric refractory or relapsed mature B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (r/r MB-NHL) with significantly improved outcomes, but a proportion of patients display no response or experience relapse after treatment. To investigate whether tumor-intrinsic somatic genetic alterations have an impact on CAR-T cell treatment, the genetic features and treatment outcomes of 89 children with MB-NHL were analyzed.
Methods: 89 pediatric patients treated at multiple clinical centers of the China Net Childhood Lymphoma (CNCL) were included in this study.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to look into the clinical significance of the renal resistance index (RRI) and renal oxygen saturation (RrSO2) in predicting the development of acute kidney injury (AKI) in critically ill children. A new non-invasive method for the early detection and prediction of AKI needs to develop.
Methods: Patients admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) affiliated with the capital institute of pediatrics from December 2020 to March 2021 were enrolled consecutively.

While Wilms tumors are the most frequently detected kidney cancer type in children, extrarenal Wilms tumors (ERWTs) remain rare. This report is the first to describe hypertension and dilated cardiomyopathy in a patient with an ERWT. A 6-month-old male infant presented with an abdominal mass and paroxysmal hypertension; echocardiography revealed dilated cardiomyopathy with an ejection fraction of 34%, as well as substantially increased plasma renin activity.

Objective: This study aimed to present the case of a boy with acute distress syndrome (ARDS) treated with low-dose umbilical cord blood (UCB) therapy and explore the underlying possible mechanism.
Methods: A 7-year-old boy with severe Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia and severe ARDS was treated with allogeneic UCB as salvage therapy.
Results: The patient did not improve after being treated with lung protective ventilation, pulmonary surfactant replacement, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for 30 days.

The progress of epigenetic research has led to the discovery and confirmation of age-related markers based on DNA methylation. These DNA methylation indices are called "epigenetic clock/age". The concept of "epigenetic clock/age" and the establishment of its evaluation system are helpful to solve some of the long-standing problems in the field of life and medicine.

Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) especially human umbilical cord MSCs is the novel regenerative cell resource for regenerative therapy. However, the biological underpinning of MSCs in neuroprotections requires deep understanding. Exosomes is an important biological factor due to its multiple types of contents with various biological function.

Background: The outcomes of minimally invasive pancreaticoduodenectomy have not been adequately compared with those of open pancreaticoduodenectomy in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. We performed a meta-analysis to compare the perioperative and oncological outcomes of these two pancreaticoduodenectomy procedures specifically in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
Methods: Before this study was initiated, a specific protocol was designed and has been registered in PROSEPRO (ID: CRD42020149438).

Background: To discuss some inaccurate parts of a published systematic review and meta-analysis which was about comparison of laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy and open pancreaticoduodenectomy for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma in overall survival and perioperative outcomes.
Methods: Not applicable.
Results: The study enrolled overlapping patient cohorts and patients with a variety of disease histologies, not specific for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

To understand the association between body fat distribution and calcaneal bone mineral density (BMD) in children and adolescents aged 6-16 years in Beijing. Children and adolescents were selected in 30 schools (8 primary schools, 21 middle schools and one 12-year education school) from Dongcheng, Tongzhou, Fangshan and Miyun districts of Beijing by using a stratified cluster sampling method from November 2017 to January 2018. A total of 15 030 students in grade 1 to 4 of primary school, grade 1 of junior and senior middle school were enrolled after excluding subjects who were not able to participate into this study due to trauma or other uncomfortable physical conditions or with missing key values or with diabetes and kidney diseases.

Background: Anorectal malformations (ARMs) are the most common congenital malformation of the gut, and regulated by multiple signal transduction pathways. The microRNA (miRNA) expression profiles and their biologial functions in anorectal malformations (ARMs) remain unclear. The aim of our study was to evaluate miRNA and mRNA expression profiles in the ARM rats.

The present study aimed to prospectively validate whether the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in obesity-related genes were associated with change in body mass index (BMI) and obesity status during childhood. Based on the Beijing Child and Adolescent Metabolic Syndrome study (BCAMS), which was initiated between April and October in 2004, we conducted a follow-up study among 1 624 children aged 6 to 11 years old with genetic data in December 2010. A total of 777 children (246 obese and 531 non-obese) were reassessed for BMI.

Objective: To examine the impact of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)in obesity-related genes on the incidence and durative of obesity in childhood and adolescence.
Methods: Based on the Beijing Child and Adolescent Metabolic Syndrome (BCAMS) Study, 780 school children aged 6 to 16 years were followed-up in 2010, and assessed for body size parameters. Venipuncture blood samples were collected after a 12-hour overnight fast.

Objective: To estimate the association of anembryonic pregnancy with 55 elements, homocysteine, folate and S-adenosylhomocysteine in pregnant women.
Methods: Thirty cases of anembryonic pregnancy were diagnosed using ultrasound scanning that showed an empty gestation sac with no embryo pole in the uterus. Additionally, thirty women with normal pregnancy were followed through the delivery a live and normal baby.
