Objective: Metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) was used to analyze the etiological distribution of refractory pneumonia in children. We compared its efficacy in pathogen diagnosis against traditional methods to provide a basis for clinical adjustment and treatment.

Methods: A total of 60 children with refractory pneumonia treated at the Department of Respiratory Medicine, Children's Hospital Affiliated with the Capital Institute of Paediatrics, from September 2019 to December 2021 were enrolled in this study.

Early childhood education (ECE) institutions provide children with rich learning experiences; however, tummy time practices among infants in these ECE institutions were unclear. This study aimed to investigate the status of tummy time among infants within the context of ECE institutions.

UHPLC-MS/MS for plasma lamotrigine analysis and comparison with a homogenous enzyme immunoassay.

To develop and validate a UHPLC-MS/MS method for lamotrigine (LTG) analysis in human plasma and evaluate its agreement with a homogenous enzyme immunoassay (HEIA). The UHPLC-MS/MS method was developed and validated according to the USFDA/EMA guidelines. A Bland-Altman plot was used to evaluate the agreement between UHPLC-MS/MS and HEIA.

To describe the epidemiological characteristics and transmission dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant during "Dynamic Zero" period, we analyzed data on the 108 laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 cases during 14 to 30 May 2022 in Beichen district, Tianjin, China. We collected information on demographic characteristics, exposure history, and illness timelines of the 108 cases. We described characteristics of the patients and estimated the key epidemiological parameters, including serial interval and the time-dependent reproduction number of the Omicron variant, Rt.

Multi-Platform Omics Analysis Reveals Molecular Signatures for Pathogenesis and Activity of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex autoimmune disease with heterogeneous clinical manifestations and the pathogenesis of SLE is still unclear. Various omics results have been reported for SLE, but the molecular hallmarks of SLE, especially in patients with different disease activity, using an integrated multi-omics approach have not been fully investigated. Here, we collected blood samples from 10 healthy controls (HCs) and 40 SLE patients with different clinical activity including inactive (IA), low activity (LA), and high activity (HA).

Background: Drug-resistant epilepsy can occur in patients with intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) caused by hemophilia, there is a paucity of literature reporting the surgical treatment of these patients because of the high risk of bleeding and comprehensive management such as factor replacement during the period of perioperation.

Methods: The data of 216 children with drug-resistant epilepsy who underwent surgically treatment in the Pediatric Epilepsy Center of the Capital Institute of Paediatrics were retrospectively reviewed. Seizure response and procedure complications were evaluated.

Objectives: To investigate alterations in neurocognitive, attention, paediatric sleep questionnaire (PSQ) scores and whole brain white matter (WM) integrity between children with mild and severe obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) according to sex and whether these changes are associated with OSA severity.

Methods: Fifty-seven children (36 males and 21 females) diagnosed with OSA were recruited for this study. Children of both sexes were divided into mild (male-MG, female-MG) and severe (male-SG, female-SG) groups according to OSA severity.
